That worries me a lot when I think about what the NEW coaching staff will look like. I know everyone assumes it will be "better" but each time the Bears try to hire to get "better" we get worse. Seriously. We may be surprised. The best coaches (head coach candidates AND coordinator & position candidates) may not be as eager as we think. They are not stupid. It's like the Cleveland Browns gig. LOL, I know this is a radical thought, but the BEST people may have better options than to come to this stink hole.
Now cue up the posts about how the coaching candidates will all view this venue as wonderful, and want to beat down the McCaskey's doors to coach this team because back in the leather helmet days they won championships here... and how it is a big market area... and people will just LOVE coming here to play for a family that once knew George Halas... and Mitch Trubisky "could" turn out to be a good QB. Somehow, I don't believe we have quite the allure that we had "back in the day" here. Just my opinion.
No, I think you're right. The thing is, if a truly good guy did come in and turn this thing around, he'd be treated like royalty forever.
And this is what Massie said after today’s game when asked if Mitchell is a leader..
Daniel Greenberg @chisportupdates · 1h "Mitch will tell us, shut the f%ck up in the huddle. Mitch has got some balls. He’s going to be a good quarterback.” - #Bears RT Bobby Massie on QB Mitch Trubisky

The kid can lead and the kid can play. All he needs is a coach who isn't terrified of allowing him to do it and next season he'll have that.
