The Bears are an embarrassment to the game of football
If you are one of many people sick of watching Bears football, then raise your hand.
Whether you are a fan of the historic Chicago franchise or simply a football fanatic, the Bears are quickly turning into a team that isn't fun to watch at all.
As offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains put it kindly on Wednesday in his media presser: "Every Bears fan is miserable."
Loggains hasn't been too good under third-year head coach John Fox who is four weeks away from knowing his fate. That is most certainly a firing after mustering 12 wins since arriving in town in 2015 alongside general manager Ryan Pace.
Injuries continue to plague the Bears especially at key positions including wide receiver, offensive line, tight end, linebacker and safety. However, coaching has been an issue since Fox and his staff took the reigns over from Marc Trestman (2017 CFL Coach of The Year).
The Athletic inside Kevin Fishbain pointed this out after Sunday's 15-14 loss to a one-win San Francisco squad.
"The Bears became the first team since 2005 to have 3 games in a season with fewer than 160 total yards of offense."
He further the embarrassment by stating that New England hasn't posted a total offensive output of 160 yards or less since 2001. The Bears have done that in back-to-back weeks.
The Bears have a rookie quarterback that started only 13 games at North Carolina and eight this season. So that has to be taken in consideration along with his lack of targets on offense. But still this is the NFL and those are shameful stats.
Adding insult to Fox's staff was this tweet from Fishbain.
And this ugly stat.
Nothing really sums up Sunday's ugly loss on five Robbie Gould field goals than this tweet.
The point is the Bears are bad under this coaching staff. Would a different coach be able to generate more wins with such young and injury prone players? I think so.
Fox is inept on challenges. He's conservative and doesn't seem to have control of anything right now.
Trubisky's press conference on Wednesday was the first time all season that I've seen him so down on everything. The rookie quarterback is used to winning and with the team suffering a five-game losing streak it is clearly taking a toll.
Also, I think he realizes that Fox and Loggains aren't the coaches to propel him to stardom. You can see flashes and Trubisky might not say it publicly, but the Bears need a young face along the sidelines.
