I have a few things to say and then will sit back a listen.
Several here I believe are over-reacting. I am not here to make excuses but only to voice my opinion.
When Healthy at the beginning of the season we managed to play Atlanta to the last play and should have probably won. We got beat pretty good by the Bucs and beat a pretty good Pittsburgh team in overtime. We played close games with Minn, Detroit and the Saints. We managed to beat the Panthers and Baltimore. Guys these are all playoff teams, with exception of GB we have played competitive in all the games. We are grooming a future QB without a No1 or No2 Wide receiver, and our running game is hurting as opponents are able to stack the box.
We lost any semblance of a pass rush when Floyd got hurt.
Most of us realized this rebuild was going to be painful and it has lived up to our expectations. Most thought it would take 5 years to bring us to be truly competitive. So lets look ahead now. There was little reason to reach out for any stud FAs in the past as we had to many holes to fill. Cutting Glennon, McPhee, and Freemen will get us close to $70M for FA. If we can sign 2 FA WR this thing will look instantly different. Let dream Sammy Watkins and Devonte Adams (10 to 11 Mill per year each) WR solved. Still have 50M to resign Fuller and Akumura if we want him or if someone better sign them. Figure 8M each on CBs so 38M spent. Still have 32M in cash.
Strong year for pass rushers and offensive linemen in draft, probably pick a rookie WR and some linemen.
Give us a real coach and things are not so bleak. We all expected this and now we are nearing the finish line. Keep your heads up.
