Bears vs. Eagles 2016 odds: Chicago favored by 3 in home opener FOXBORO, MA - AUGUST 18: By: Bryan Perez | 3 hours ago
The Chicago Bears were nearly a touchdown underdog in their Week 1 game versus the Houston Texans, proof once again that Vegas is right on the money when it comes to the likely outcome of NFL games. The Bears lost by nine, giving fans who bet on the Texans a few extra dollars on Sunday.
This week, Chicago will host the Eagles on Monday Night Football, a week after rookie Carson Wentz took the NFL by storm with Philadelphia’s Week 1 victory over the Browns.
The Bears are opening the week favored by three points, which for a home team is the equivalent of a pick ’em. If Chicago was favored by less than three points, then Vegas would be suggesting that the Eagles are likely to win the game.
As of now, it’s anyone’s guess.
Coach John Fox and the rest of the Bears’ staff will use the extra day of prep work to fix the problems along the offensive line. The dreadful play of right tackle Bobby Massie and the disappointing second-half performance of left tackle Charles Leno has created a major concern about whether Jay Cutler will ever have enough time to get the passing game rolling.
While the Eagles’ defensive line isn’t quite as talented as the Texans’, they’re still pretty darn good. The Bears will be tested once again up front, and if Cutler takes the kind of pounding on September 19 that he took in Week 1, the Eagles will comfortably cover the spread.
I'm gonna spend the rest of this week and the weekend blissfully fantasizing that all that went wrong in the second half of last Sunday's game will be corrected this week and that by Monday we're ready to roll over the Iggles in grand fashion.
Guess I should head to my favorite dispensary to stock up on uh.....some medication to get me through the next 5 or 6 days then huh?

Basically Vegas doesn't really know what to think about the Bears or the Eagles rt now (and the home team always gets 3pts ) . Take away a fumbled snap , an int deep in Bears territory , and an obvious missed illegal block in the back call on Fullers TD , and that game could have gone differently . So they don't really know what to think - and the Eagles did play the Browns , so ......
I don't expect the Bears to magically morph into a great team in one week. I'll be happy if they make steady improvement throughout this season. That is what I am looking for. I'm hoping for a win, but at least I want to see some things cleaned up from Sunday. Let's see if the team can put more consistent pressure on their QB. Hope the OL improves (although I don't know what they can do with Massie). White needs to improve.

Yeah you're right blue. It's basically a push other than the automatic 3 for home field advantage.

Just look like a young team improving.
Not magic morph. Magic mushrooms. They can make anything look better. LOL
