Staff brothers: We may want to make a "sticky" for this one since it will be ongoing and added to.

Each week until the NFL Draft, we will be looking at one prospect, evaluate and see how that prospect will fit the Chicago Bears. This week’s prospect is Dorance Armstrong Jr.
In this edition of “The Prospect of The Week” we will be evaluating outside linebacker Dorance Armstrong Jr from Kansas.
The front seven is an area that Chicago Bears General Manager Ryan Pace loves to emphasize since his arrival in Chicago in 2015. That’s the reason he took Johnathan Bullard, Eddie Goldman, and Leonard Floyd high in the draft. He also signed players like Akiem Hicks, Danny Trevathan, Pernell McPhee, and Jerrell Freeman in free agency. This means that drafting Dorance Armstrong Jr. is not out of the question.
The Bears are thankful for a healthy Pernell McPhee to play alongside Leonard Floyd, but the truth is the Bears can’t have faith in McPhee to stay on the field. He’s already 28 with two serious knee injuries, so it’s only a matter of time before his legs give out and his production declines. This is why it would be wise to invest in a potential replacement –such as Dorance Armstrong from Kansas.
Last season Dorance Armstrong consistently terrorized offenses on the edge. He totaled 56 tackles, with an outstanding 20 for a loss and also had 10 sacks on the year. Armstrong is also no slouch at causing turnovers with 3 forced fumbles and recovering two of them.
Heading into this season, every offense focused on Armstrong ( a smart move considering Kansas doesn’t have another playmaker on defense) which led to double teams and sometimes even triple teams which probably affected his stats. If Armstrong can maintain what he had going in his sophomore year, then he should be on the Bears draft board this coming April.
My pro-comparison for Armstrong Jr is a player already on the Bears roster- Leonard Floyd. They both use their fineness moves to get past blockers and use their speed to their advantage. Just like Floyd coming out of Georgia, Armstrong will have to get bigger/stronger as he is too thin to handle the run. The duo of Leonard Floyd and Dorance Armstrong will be a fast linebacking group, causing opposing quarterbacks to quickly throw the football.
Next: Where Trubisky must improve
Given his lack of production this year, I expect Armstrong to slip during the draft, but also expect Armstrong to have a phenomenal combine, causing teams to glance his way. Look for Ryan Pace to keep an eye on the Jayhawk for the rest of the season.
