Does it speak highly of the players? OL couldn't get a push or protect well, DL had moments but not enough; 3rd string rb walked all over them. Trubs was all over the place w/his ball placement.
I get why people are mad at the coaches, they had a shit game also, but the players win or lose games w/their play on the field. They didn't play well enough.
+1 Coaches and players. But what was especially disappointing to watch was how disorganised the players looked yesterday. They were not ready to play. That is on the coaching staff, IMHO. Fox and the coordinators - all of them share some responsibility for that. They did not have their players ready for this game. Damn shame. The Packers were ripe for a loss. We failed to give one to them.
That I agree. there were reasons, and have been for a few years to question the coaches. But the players really lacked also. Floyd got trucked on a few plays. McPhee either adhoc'd a play and then blamed Unrien for not knowing what McPhee was thinking or it was a called play and Unrien didn't do his job.
Fuller got absolutely torn apart by Hundley; although I feel for him, no one is throwing to Prince so Fuller is getting more exposed then he should.

+1 The team wasn't ready to play. Really disappointing.
This game generally was not surprising. I knew it would be two offenses that struggle to move the ball. I figured the Bears would win but it wasn't shocking GB won... There was one thing I was shocked about though: I never expected the Packers to have any success running the ball against the Bears. Especially given how well the Bears run defense has been.

In any given game between the two for many years two things always seem true.
1) The Bears are always almost without exception out coached.
2) All the Pack has to do is play their own game and wait for the Bears to make enough mistakes to lose.
At the core center of every Bears vs Packers game those two elements usually exist just as they did on Sunday.

It's almost always been about the quarterbacks. There was a year (08 maybe?) where we had you beat and Favre throws it RIGHT TO Urlacher and you get the win... The November game last year when Starr and Favre came back to Lambeau and you guys took it to us on national TV was also a bitter pill to swallow..

We were on a caribbean cruise and that game was on the big screen over the pool. A bunch of packer fans were crying about the refs. they actually walked out. What a great memory, we have so few lately.

That usually circles back around like it did on Sunday. Not cryin' foul mind you but I saw some poor calls and some totally missed calls. Watch the view from the end zone camera and tell me how they missed the holding by Jordy Nelson on Eddie Jackson. That wasn't a block it was a bear hug.

There were games this year where we thought many thought the refs stole the game... That's how it goes... Usually when you point a finger at the refs there are four more pointed back at you for why you lost... With the exception of course the Fail Mary game in Seattle... That was robbery...

Oh hell yeah, that was a bad miss but it had little to do with the end result. Good teams with good coaching overcome stuff like that. The team itself has some talent and Trubisky looks like with some good coaching and a far better offense he may finally be the guy.
What needs to happen now is a reset of the coaching staff and a very thorough and critical review of this years roster by Pace and his new coaching staff. There are quite a few players in their contract year or those on one year deals they'll need to make decisions on before FA.
Then with yet another sizeable war chest of cap space Pace and his HC need to fill in some key weaknesses in FA. I'd say WR and OL are the biggest needs offensively and a backup NT and OLBs are the biggest needs defensively outside of some decisions to be made with our own UFAs.
Only then can we really predict how to draft and even that will depend largely on where we draft.
I know I've said this before, but some still think it is not on the coaches.
Fox likes a no risk, conservative offense. He likes a ball control offense that takes no risks. Unfortunately, at least the way he runs it, it is very predictable and scores very little. There is no margin for error in his game. If anything goes wrong, he can't overcome it.
That is the first problem and you will always lose to the best teams this way because they will always outscore you. If has happened to him several times in the playoffs, but he can't seems to understand it no matter how many times it happens.
Then when you take that no margin game plan and add the cherry on the cake, being that you don't put your best players in a position to makes plays, well.... what can go wrong?
The stupidity is just one of those things that makes you say "I can't believe I'm actually seeing this. This is an NFL coach?"
