The Green Bay Packers received some bad news after the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday as cornerback Sam Shields suffered a possible concussion according to Michael Cohen of PackersNews.com.
Shields suffered the injury late in the fourth quarter. Obviously, this is nothing new to him as he suffered with concussions last year.
If Shields is diagnosed with another concussion, he will likely miss the game next Sunday against the Vikings. And with this being his possible fourth concussion, he could miss more time for precautionary reasons.
At some point you call it a career right (obviously Shields is one of our best players)? Jim McMahon needs to leave himself notes to remind him what he's doing....
He's making 10 million annually so you have to wonder how that affects the dynamics. This is a position on GB that they are extremely deep on so wouldn't kill them if he were out for four weeks.... Good kid, hope he's ok...
Shields suffered a concussion against the Dallas Cowboys at Lambeau Field on Dec. 13 and missed four games, returning for the team's divisional playoff game at Arizona on Jan. 16. He said later that he blacked out as a result of hitting his head on the turf and suffered headaches for weeks afterward.
He called it the worst injury he ever suffered.
"Concussions — one minute you feel better, the next minute you don't," he said in June. "You never know. I didn't want to risk something serious happening and then my career would be over with. I don't like them. The headaches are tough."
