I Wonder if Glen-necks problem is his length? He is very long and his arms a just as bad. Seems like his throwing motion is downwards combine that with his skyscrapper-esque statue, a lot of his throws appear to head towards the receivers feet.
Then again wtf do I know lol? I'm a guy with a watch/whisky/whiskey/wine problem...
Personally, it helps to see how hard this team fought to win today, in spite of having to overcome an offense with a backup-quality QB, and our receiver problems. We just need to clean up the penalties, and get Trubisky in as soon as he is ready. Trubisky may struggle no matter when we start him this year. But that's okay if he's ready to begin playing.
This was a hard fought win. Loved seeing the effort by the team today.
Yes it was. You're not seeing Trubs this week...not with only 3 days to prep and 2 glorified walk through practices. MAYBE game 5...maybe, but I still think it's after the bye.
Yeah, all I am saying is WHEN he is ready, get him in. It is really hard to watch Mike Glennon.
While I'm glad the Bears won, they haven't turned the corner yet, but they are getting damn close.
In some ways yes but in other no. Let's not forget that this was a home win against a very gassed Pitt team who often loses on the road to teams they should easily beat. On a 90 degree day with humidity nearly as high our scheme of running the ball at them and controlling TOP worked. If we had played them in Pitt on a rainy day with temps in the 50s we probably get our asses kicked.
I won't look a gift horse in the mouth but our offense got some nice gifts courtesy of Sherrick McManis. Ten points came from his turnovers so he gets at least half a game ball for those. Sans those turnovers we only scored one TD in regulation. That won't win many games and even today we tried really hard to lose by making stupid mistakes. Cooper, Glennon, and Leno all cost us points or gave points to Pitt.
Let's see how they play on Thursday up in Cheesebay. To me that game in a short week will tell us whether or not they've turned any corners or are even close to it. Two tight games against playoff team who didn't exactly bring their A game sandwiched around a blow out in TB doesn't tell us much so far except we finally won a game in Sept. and at home yet. That's not a turn around it's simply an any given Sunday win.
A 4-4 record by the bye week might but we've got a long way to go to get there and we could just as easily be 1-7 or 2-6. This team is not gonna win much with Glennon playing QB because most team will bottle up that run game better than Pitt did today and force Glennon to beat then via passing. Let's see how GB play it.

The Bears were only in the game because of Pittsburgh's play in defence and their multiple errors.
Chicago did ok, but on any normal Sunday where a team doesn't make the mistakes the Steelers made and normally the opponent would stack the box to block the run. Chicago wouldn't have been in the game. The RBs were excellent in their game management, but clearly even the coach has no faith in Glennon because he barely asked him to do anything but give it to the team's strength and let them do something.
I don't want to put a negative on any win, because I'm happy the team showed some fight and showed that they want to win, but if anything I think yesterday showed how much more we need as a team. WRs who can't catch when Glennon does throw the ball, A QB who isn't trusted to lead the team. I'm disappointed we aren't utilising our TEs more, who were a strength coming into the season. 14 receptions in 3 games. Lastly run the ball into the endzone, hopefully he won't do that again!
But like I said, I am happy we won and today I won't write another negative piece, I will just wait for Thursday to watch the Bears again.

I disagree. If Barf kicks it in and Cooper makes one more step - its a blowout. We let Steelers back in, they should be happy they got even to OT.

Right now I think his biggest issue is the interior OL inj's and no WR's/TE's. He is not an elite qb and needs legit wr's to throw to/make plays for him, these guys can barely catch; lack of familiarity on both sides probably doesn't help. Shouldn't take 3 years, but it's going to take more then 4 games; some .500 clubs early on would have been nice for a warmup.

Agreed. Assuming both Long and Sitton are back and relatively healthy, we should see improvement in Glennon's play. His lack of mobility means he has to have a clean and relatively deep pocket. If he has that, he will be better. Not great but better.
It was good to see Shaheen get into the passing game yesterday. If Glennon has two reliable receiving threats at TE with Miller and Shaheen, it will take some pressure off him as well.
Wait just a minute, interior OL was very good yesterday! Wheaton and Wright may be a little rusty, but Glennon needs to help them thru it + Miller, Shaheen and Sims, who is pay'd way more than a blocking TE. Enough targets in my book.

Glennon's throwing motion is too slow, he can't move well in the pocket and i haven't seen a throw he can make well consistently. This means no easy passing plays. His best game was versus ATL, and there he threw late/ behind his receivers. This team misses Cam for sure, but no WR is going to look good getting the ball late as they will be teed off on (see ball picked off that was thrown to Miller late). I am very happy for the D, OL and RBs that their efforts (throw ST in there too) were finally rewarded with a win but a team can't turn the corner without better QB play imo.
Timu had a solid game yesterday and good on him. The OL was surprisingly good considering how many times guys got shuffled around.
