More likely they didn't want to tie the money up in a kicker. It is a sideways move at best.
I don't know what's up with next year contract wise, maybe Pace has some FAs he wants to pursue.
Thank you tragic. I think that's basically what it was too on both counts. I have no axe to grind as long as he gets the job done but business is business and $4 mil is a lot for a PK. Even Robbie seemed to realize that.
I still have the feeling that we're drafting a kicker next year.
Thank God they didn't listen to me and draft the kid from Florida State this year. His troubles show how good at scouting ol 4DaBers is. Not very.
Aguayo? He's improved a lot since his first two games but I would probably never spend a high draft pick on a PK. I think so much of it is mental prep and it's much like getting the timing and groove of a golf swing down. And then you have LS and a Holder to deal with so it's like a golf swing where one guy tosses the ball to another guy who sets it on the tee while you're in the middle of your swing.
Being that Robbie is practically a scratch golfer it's why I figured he'd get it worked out sooner or later but sooner didn't come soon enough I guess.

I posted and then read your comment and felt mine was a bit redundant. Gould has been worse, but it's a small sample size. That's why it's hard to evaluate kickers in general; they don't get a lot of plays on tape.

I didn't think it wasn't redundant it's just two of us seeing it the same way. And if Barth does turn out to be pretty much a lateral move but for far less money then the cold hard business fact is they made the right decision AND used the money wisely on the OL. I can't fault them for that. It was a much bigger issue.

That explains why I would truly SUCK at kicking!!! If you ever need some comic relief, just hit the course with ME sometime.

You and me together on the course sounds like a side-splitting good time. The Keystone Kops of golf. I've only played a couple times, but my best tee shot ever flew just above ground level, dipped under a bridge, bounced once off the water and flew up over the rise on the other side before it landed. My buddy looked at me and just shook his head in disbelief.
