Coaches teaching a route tree to a rookie is different then a coach "coaching up" a 10 year vet, hell even a 4-5 year vet that has seen the field. Everyone and their sister knew that White was raw and needed to learn the route tree coming out of college, that's not really coaching up a pro, that's somehting he should have had after 1 year into the pro's.
There is also the point that White has NFL talent, he's not a UDFA or former player that was on the streets that got picked up b/c the team was on their 4th DE or CB.
I figured there might be a reason that it was not the same
You honestly believe there is a difference in getting a top pick rookie/young player up to nfl speed vs getting scrubs/guys that weren't in the league to be able to actually play at an NFL lvl?
My biggest concern for White isn't route trees, it's staying healthy. I want to hear the conditioning coach talking about what they are doing to keep him on the field. I don't think we have seem enough of White playing to blast the former coaches.

I don't disagree, but not much a conditioning coach can do to stop a players bones from breaking. What he can do is make sure he's not over working himself and make sure he's using proper stretches to keep his muscles loose.

Of course I think there is a difference, but I would never admit it to you...
I don't necessarily think he's saying previous coaches failed him, I think he was just pointing out that White, because of injuries hasn't been able to be coached like other guys.

Agree. I'd rather hear how they are preparing, stretching, and strengthening him for the upcoming season. Working on techniques to minimize injuries when falling, changing directions or landing from a jump. Anything to give him an edge to actually play an entire NFL season.
I don't know how much blame we can put on the previous coach. He didn't get much time practicing with him when the dude is hurt for half a year each year.
Here is a direct quote for the new receivers coach as posted in Lambert's article. The quote was posted in all upper case, so I am not doing an emphasis thing.
HIS PAST TWO POSITION COACHES WEREN’T ABLE TO DEVELOP HIM AS MUCH AS THEY WOULD HAVE LIKED BECAUSE OF INJURY SETBACK, RIGHT? SO I GET TO ALMOST START FROM SQUARE ONE, TO BE QUITE HONEST WITH YOU. NOTHING AGAINST THOSE GUYS, THEY JUST WEREN’T ABLE TO GET HIM OUT THERE A LOT.
The interesting part of the quote to me is "Nothing against those guys, they just weren't able to get him out there a lot." When White was drafted, it was stated by a lot (a majority?) of the draft analysts that White had a limited college career and played with a very limited route tree.
New we are twp years in and hopefully the kid is finally healthy and will play a lot this year. And we are arguing about he had limited experience in college and does not know the pro route tree? His new potition coach is saying that he didn't have enough time on the field to be taught it.
I think this more an article to fill up the pre-TC dead time than anything really substantive.

Yep but it also sounds like white is starting to figure it out and getting some of the finer points on how to run routes. We can only hope that he does and is able to stay healthy bc then losing aj wont hurt as much.

Agreed. I watched White play the two years he was at WVU. While he was raw as a WR, his innate talent was obvious. Fast, smooth change of direction, good vertical jump, large catch radius, soft hands.
I am just hoping and praying he stays healthy as I suspect that he just needs playing time to mature into a top tier NFL WR.

Well, just on point a good ESPN article on Fox saying White is finally healthy.
