Do you think the Bears will have better depth quality this year, or about the same? Just curious.
Same or better. We pretty much have the same guys we had last year with a bunch of new guys from FA (mostly depth I think). So if the guys we have are better we keep them. If they guys from FA are better, we make the swap and get better. I don;t think we would swap down, so it should be the same or better IMO

I would say our D line got better with the addition of Howard, and I'd say our DB talent overall improved...so from that aspect yeah...I'd say our depth is better. Offensively a lot remains to be seen And of course this all depends on injury.
Depth comes down to coaching and luck to a degree. For the Bears to even perform at a high level this year we will need a lot of luck with injuries, because if you have the injuries we have had in the last few seasons you need to ask why.
Is it over-conditioning, under-conditioning, bad technique or just bad luck. These are the factors you battle against every season. If you can get the first three right you've just got to hope your luck holds out and your best/key players avoid bad injuries. These are areas it would be nice to hear how the Bears are tackling it and where they feel they could improve.
This year I think the Bears have decent depth, but only if we don't suffer injuries in key areas, like WR, like OL, like CB/S. For once QB is at a decent depth level. The first two guys on the depth chart we more or less know exactly what we are getting.
I just fear that early injuries this season and we will be no closer to knowing how good some of these guys are or could be. I think with good QB play, with no crazy turnovers and the Bears will be in a lot of games. As they were last year at times, only to give points away or the ball at key moments.
I'm more concerned about better caliber starters. Once you accomplish that the depth should automatically be better. Our problem is that for the past several years we have mostly backup depth caliber starters and even lesser backups. If we want better depth get better starters.

Amen. That is why I was so disappointed in our FA. It's like we are treading water and just swapping spit.
