I hope we see him a lot in training camp. But not during the season, I hope we can get by with Glennon and not even Sanchez. Shaw still has to get a chance to show what he has. We need to increase his trade value along with Glennon.
I don't think we will see him much in preseason. Glennon and Sanchez will take the bulk of the time. He will maybe get a series in game 1 and 2 with maybe 2 series in game 4. I think the Bears will want him to learn from the main two guys and learn how the NFL works. Adjust to the speed adn athleticism.
I actually think Sanchez could be a good mentor to Trubisky, just becuase of all the hype he went through entering the league after dislocating his knee and then making a successful comeback to lift the Rose Bowl. Being selected at no. 5, I think he can help keep his feet firmly on the ground and offer him some invaluable knowledge and advice.
I really do think we're all going to grow to like, if not, love this kid.
+1 I really didn't know much about him. But since the draft I've been watching these interviews and videos - and watching YouTube games. I am beginning to get very excited about us drafting him. And I absolutely love how Pace has arranged it so that he doesn't have to start right away. Even if Glennon struggles this year, I hope they don't push Trubisky into starting before he is ready.
Fans will be upset, and say you don't let the #2 pick of the draft ride the pine. But I am 100% wanting to bring this guy along at his own pace. We've blown it with our QBs for decades here. Let's do this guy justice and develop him properly. Look to a long-term success with him.
That would be a different and novel approach around Halas Hall wouldn't it. I agree 100% so let's start by getting a HC and an OC who have at least some chance of developing him. Someone whose actually done it before unlike those two we currently have. Then maybe a solid OL with two OTs who can pass protect and some WRs and TEs who make a few Pro Bowls. This time let's give our prize QB a fighting chance of succeeding.
