Hub was saying he had been calling around to other GM's/coaches about Glennon b/c of Pace signing him convincing the media he really believes he has a chance to be the future starter. He said several of the people he spoke w/said they were very high on Glennon and there were several teams that tried to sign him but coudln't compete w/what the Bears offered. So right now it sounds like Hub is trying to rationalize why was there a need to trade up and get a qb, when and if they really believe Glennon is the guy. I think that's why he has a problem w/trading the 3rds and 4th.
btw, Zach said that Trub's was similar to Marriota in size/combine #'s(who Pace originally wanted), but MM is taller by about 2inches, and a little faster. But the combine #'s are similar.

And that sounds great, let Glennon take the lumps for a year, maybe even two and then let Trubearsky take it over. Sounds like a dream. Probably is.

Hell if Glennon does reach that ceiling of Eli or Ryan(if you believe those comps from some GM's) you could either sign him long term and trade Trub's, or trade him for picks if Trubs seems to be abl to out play him.

+1 It just seems to me that Pace has tried to cover all bases to improve our QB situation. If both QBs would turn out great, that is NOT a problem. Not at all.

I would rather see Tubrinski earn the starting job in camp/preseason.
That isn't going to happen Mike. This is a kid that needs to learn to dropback from center, call plays, hell this is a kid that needs to learn how to hard count. The job is 100% Glennons, pass or fail.

I rather have him ease into the NFL. If it takes 2 years then so be it.
I will enjoy his Preseason games.
Trub needs to ride the bench at least one season, I agree. Let's not blow this pick by rushing him out there too fast and screwing him up a la David Carr.
