BOTTOM LINE Antoine lacks the coverage talent to be considered a full-time safety, but his experience as a return man combined with his ability to get down the field in kick coverage gives him an outside shot of finding his way on a roster as a special teams specialist.

The kid sounds perfect for us. So do our other safeties.
I saw some tape of Coward and he can at least draw double teams. Not sure about his footwork yet but he seems to be able to get into the backfield. A good project for backup NT if you ask me. I would keep him at 320 or the weight he is currently at.

Freddie Stevenson first met the Chicago Bears’ coaching staff at the Senior Bowl. While the Florida State fullback spent the week in Alabama as a member of the South team, the Bears coaches led the North. The sides mingled plenty, and Chicago first expressed interest in Stevenson back in January. The Bartow grad watched his name go uncalled during the final day of the NFL Draft on Saturday but, after those final picks were made, the Bears reached out. Now, Stevenson is heading to Chicago after signing as an undrafted free agent. “They said they’re going to give me an opportunity to start right away,” he said. “They said my versatility is really why they were so big on me.”
The Bears did not have a sixth or seventh round pick and Stevenson said the team told him on Sunday, had they held more picks in the later rounds, they would have drafted him. The team currently has a fullback on roster in Paul Lasike. Chicago was one of six teams to try and sign Stevenson after the draft. “It was exciting,” Stevenson said. “I knew that would be the best fit for me.”
