Pace has added some solid young talent. I am sure looking forward to the draft. My favorite signing so far is the TE Sims.

Bears say they have playmakers, and Mike Glennon sees plenty
LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Chicago Bears committed $16 million guaranteed to Mike Glennon in 2017, but is enough talent in place for the new quarterback to succeed?
General manager Ryan Pace called that a fair question Friday. The topic is relevant because the last time Chicago made a sizable investment at quarterback, with Jay Cutler in 2009, the weapons around him in the passing game left something to be desired.
"Every one of these situations is thoroughly thought out, you know it's not like there's a rash decision here or there,” Pace said. “We still have a lot of other things to do and I like Kevin White, Cam Meredith and Markus Wheaton and our receiving corps. And guys, there are still other avenues in front of us, we've got an entire NFL draft in front of us and certain positions are very good in that draft, too, and so we just have to let it play out. We're just at the beginning, and we're one day really into the offseason process.”
Glennon arrived in Chicago with eyes wide open. He meticulously studied tape of the Bears’ 2016 offense before making his decision. Glennon probably knew in advance that Alshon Jeffery would not be part of the mix -- Glennon and Jeffery had no existing relationship, and Jeffery preferred a destination with some familiarity at quarterback -- but he still located playmakers (in his mind) who can be utilized.
“I think the guy that stood out to me was Cameron Meredith,” Glennon said of the two-year pro. “That guy was making a lot of plays throughout the course of the season. He was the only one I felt was there essentially all the games. From my recall, he played every game; I might not be exactly right. He made a lot of plays. Kevin White, you see the potential. The first thing that jumps out to me was that catch he had against Dallas on that go route.
"And Zach Miller's made a lot of plays, who was another teammate of mine in Tampa; we were in camp together my rookie year. And the running backs ... I mean, Jordan Howard's a rookie that goes to the Pro Bowl. Jeremy Langford had success in the NFL. There are a lot of guys on this team that I think that can be big-time playmakers for us.”
Glennon even mentioned veteran Eddie Royal, who is scheduled to earn $5 million (all of it non-guaranteed) in 2017. Whether Royal, who’s battled injuries the past two seasons, is on the final roster remains to be seen, but he actively recruited Glennon to Chicago.
“The person I talked to a lot with was Eddie Royal,” Glennon said. “Eddie went to high school with my brother. They were roommates at Virginia Tech together. So I’ve known Eddie for 15 years now. He actually reached out to me to say positive things about the Bears and how good of an opportunity he thinks it would be if it were to come open, and had great things to say about Ryan, the coaches, the players, just everything.
"I really didn’t hear a negative word about Chicago and the Bears and that made me even more comfortable with the decision.”
The Bears also added former Tennessee first-round pick wide receiver Kendall Wright on Saturday. Wright's best year came in 2013 when he caught 94 passes for 1,079 yards.
