I feel a bit better about the signing after listening to his (Glennon's) press conference. The kid can definitely throw the ball. Lets see if we can give him some protection & play makers.
I just wonder who he is going to throw to after White and Miller end up on IR
For the record, Lovie Smith, scout supreme, really believed in Glennon:
"Yeah, I think you can definitely say that Mike can be the quarterback that can play at a high level in this league," Smith said when asked if Glennon can be a franchise quarterback. "And I mean, we only have one quarterback on our roster. If you look at the comments I've made about him, yes, I think he can be that guy."

The thing with Lovie is that with any talent evaluation he makes, you almost have to bet on the opposite of what he says.

When he said "Jay Cutler is down right now" I wonder what his ball speed velocity was.

I like the guy. Loved the press conference. I hope they post a link to the entire pressor... I'd like to hear it again.
Call me an optimist but I feel that Pace does well at FA signings grabbing players that are not the sexiest names in Free Agency but that end up being vital cogs on the team. Trevethan & McPhee wouldn't fall into this category as they were consider big name FAs. Tracy Porter was arguably the best player in the Bears secondary. Hicks and Freeman could be considered 2 of the best players on Defense. At WR two of the best on the Bears roster are Royal (whose injuries couldn't be predicted) and Meredith a UDFA. Callahan a promising UDF and one of the better CBs. Massie was overpaid was serviceable as he was able to start at RT (and really there wasn't many options). Sitton could be considered a fluke to fall into the Bears lap. Considering what Pace was given to work with in terms of talent on the roster his FA signings have been better than expected his first 2 years.
I am not saying Glennon is going to be a solid starting QB because he is a virtual unknown given the fact that he was a QB under Lovie and then was in the unfortunate spot of being on a team with the #1 overall pick the year Winston and Marriotta were coming out. Given his age and experience, he is more likely to come in and have success than starting a rookie QB. He's had 4 years of grooming and if anything the Bears have proven over the years they are unable to do this with any success. It seems to me as good a gamble as any - and it didn't cost the Bears a #1 pick...or any pick for that matter.
