Listen if this guy is a real once in a lifetime type S then by all means you grab him. But if not, feel free to trade back a few, that's all I'm saying. It's SUPER rare for a S to go in the top 5, only slightly less rare for a CB to go that high.
This team has so completely failed at DB that maybe it's worth it all the same.
Who would be a good trade back team though?...Jets may be the only one that you could dangle the #3 at possibly...
No idea, depends on who is there at 3, and what teams feel they are that piece away.
One look at the TE class coming out (and the TEs dominating the game currently) and it's apparent how valuable a skilled safety is in the league today. The safety position - as seen through Berry's recent contract - is growing its value in the NFL and I think you're going to start seeing that not only in contracts of current safeties but in the position the top safeties are drafted each year. The versatility of the safety is supreme in the NFL as the position of box and free safety have continued to merge.
Short of it: Adams is a top 10 prospect for sure and in that top 10, you take who you think is the best fit. I'd still like to see us pick up Watson and would be willing to sacrifice that #3 pick to give him a shot BUT if Pace goes a different route I think your clear top candidates should be: 1. Garrett 2. Allen 3. Adams 4. Thomas
