I did not see the game but I did PVR it from NFL network which will air it on Sat 1pm est. But it sounds like from all your posts that: 1. Our young CB's look to be improving which is great to hear. 2. Our RB by Committee might be in fact a dual threat of Howard & Langford. 3. Corny at this point might as well be Coach of some kind because the higher powers keep trying to stop his game. 4. We might as well deal with the fact that Hoyer is our back-up. 5. Gould is not as good as gold, more like bronze and it is time? The past few years it is noticeable the decline in his foot. Looks like it takes forever to leave his foot. 6. White hopefully is starting to game ready. 7. Maybe this Season won't be so bad to watch.

All of that looks about right BUT, remember it was against shit Brown.
I didn't get to watch. So what's with Mr Unreliable Robbie Gould all of a sudden? 2 missed PATs?
I don't know what's wrong with him, but he is looking really bad. This started a few years ago. I wish we could replace him for this year, even. I think he's gone that far downhill. He could cost us games this year.
Lookey here ... the Bears played competent fb tonight . It was avg as far as fb goes , but they actually looked like they remembered how to play the game tonight . Gould shanked 1 and had 1 tipped but I'm not worried - he's the kind of guy who will see it as unacceptable and it'll make him beardown and be 'on his game' moving forward . The RB's had a better night , fighting and scrapping for yards and getting 1st downs , and Howard made himself hard to cut with a big 2nd half . White caught the ball with ease and showed a little of what he's capable of . The replacement CB's looked decent ( some might say good ) so I don't see them getting 'burned with ease' if they're pressed into service . Overall they looked like they're finally getting it ( and not like some team running a Chinese Fire Drill ) . Am I optimistic ? Basically no ... but I don't think they'll get blown out regularly either .. they should be 'respectable' .. and they should be a much better team the second half of the season .
I agree with everything but Gould, hes on the spiral down and hes not coming back. For $ 4,100,100 !!! im expecting way, way more
+1 Stick a fork in Gould. His career is done, IMHO. This is a guy who could cost us games this year.

He's been starting to be less reliable the last 2 years. They should have been brining in competition for him in every offseason and for some reason have ignored the issue; now it's looking bad.
I'm getting a little concerned myself but if there's anyone I trust to get it worked out it's him.

I agree with Ric. On the old board at the end of last season, I argued that Gould should be replaced this offseason or at the very least competed against. He's overpaid and fading fast. The depth of his KOs was already slipping and then last year his FG production fell off a cliff. Just preseason, but so far this year it looks like that's the new normal and not just a temporary glitch.
i fear the team is going to regret not making a move this spring/summer when they had the chance.

There will always be PKs out there on the street looking for a job. That's how we got Robbie in the first place. If we aren't in contention for the playoffs later in the season and Robbie continues to struggle I wouldn't say his job is secure even through this year. A whole lot of teams have replaced their PKs mid season before.
I still believe he'll pull out of it. Robbie has worked on his game much the same as Pat Mannelly did on his and they were nearly automatic as a pair. Most if not all of Robbie's struggles have come since Mannelly retired two years ago. He's been through about a half dozen LS since. How much that has do to with it I can't say but it can't just be a coincidence.
Maybe it's a timing issue that hasn't been worked out yet. I can't say. I only know that it does need to be worked out and it's much the same with O'Donnell and the punts. He also made some comments about the optimal speed of the snap so there's more to it than just getting the ball back there. Timing it correctly is also part of the equation.
