Everyone has their own thoughts and hopes here. I have read as much stuff as I can and continue to do so. The general gist of what I am reading is that Pace won't spend the third pick on a QB.
While I don't like it and don't agree, the more I think about it, the more I agree that he won't. If nothing else, he is a guy that really goes after BPA with practically no consideration at need in the draft. He uses FA for his needs more than he does the draft unless that person is also BPA.
So I think we will not go QB with our third pick. What do you guys think?

Why is that the gist you get? Because it certainly isn't the gist I get.

From what we've learn from the past 2 years its split for me.
His first year as GM was awful.
- Drafting Kevin White instead of Vic Beasley who was the best pass rusher in the draft - Only having 1 starter drafted in 2015 - Terrible FA signings
His year 2 was much better
- Much better draft with hopes of having 3+ starters - FA pickups were nice. Sitton, Freeman, and Hicks - No Dak Had 3 4th round picks and we pass up on a QB...
Just from that I'm split.
He needs to draft a QB this year no matter what. Now if its going to be our 1st or 2nd pick is up to him. We also need some big name FAs to fix our secondary.

Agreed, and lets remember he didn't have his scouts and team set up in time to draft the guys he wanted in 2015 so he was drafting based on Emery's scouts and team...and you see the results. 2016 he had everything set up the way he wanted and a complete reverse of fortune.
His greatest flaw, and by some accounts it wasn't all his choice, was the Fox hire; bad move; 2nd biggest mistake was not finding a qb worth taking in the first 2 drafts that was worth trying to develop. He wouldn't be in the desperate situation he is in now if he had.

Vast majority of analysts/reporters are saying that no qb is worth taking at 3. It's not true, and it won't happen(unless Cle/SF trade for or sign Taylor/Glennon) 2 of the top 3 teams are going to take qb's, and probably another 2 teams later in the draft will take a flyer on a couple others. But that's not what is being reported. btw, while I normally really like Hub he's a complete mich homer, and has Peppers going to the Bears, and has for awhile and hasn't come off it. Meanwhile he's slipping in most mocks mainly b/c he has 1 int and might not have a forced fumble credited to him. You dont draft that S at 3, and likely won't make it in the top 10. But Hub has a huge influence in chicago media and they are running w/it.

Well then Hub just went down a few spots in my book. Peppers is a special athlete and is going to amaze some people this week at the combine, but as I've said repeatedly...he belongs on offense. I've watched him since he was a freshman at Don Bosco here in Jersey...he's an absolute defensive liability in my eyes, and it seems NFL people are finally catching up to what I've been saying about him for years.

I don't know what to think of Peppers, other then to say that there is no way you can take him w/a top 5 pick as a DB when he has zero ball hawking skills. I'm a pretty big fan of Hub, but this is one of those years he's just off and I hope he's as quick to come off it as he was after the Long draft.

Peppers just doesn't have the hip fluidity to be an effective cover man in the NFL. He'll get beat...badly, by NFL receivers, and to me he's not aggressive enough on the run to be an in box safety. He's special with the ball in his hand...so I'd put him in a position where he'd have the ball in his hands a lot.
