So according to Waterfootball, they have heard rumors the Bears are really high on Mitchell Trib. Should be really interesting to see how it all works out. Of the 3 that's the one guy I like the least; mainly b/c of his lack of experience, but if you got a guy like Glennon, you could sit Mitchell for a couple years and not worry about it.
From what I've read (take with grain of salt):
Kizer sounds like another Cutler..."All arm, no head". OMG, if that's even partially true then I wat nothing to do with him. Apparently, he performed poorly in the QB drills at the Combine too. We have all had enough of a starting QBs with a 50 million dollar arm and a 10 cent brain.
I know everyone is high on Watson. I'm not that excited. He threw a lot of picks in college. Is he another RG3 who will flash and then be constantly hurt? Besides I think he's likely gone to San Fran at #2.
Trub is my preferred guy among the early favorites. But yeah he's gonna need patience and time. I'm not too excited about paying Glennon $15M--same as Cutler--as a bridge when he's not really "the guy". That combo (of draft and monetary capital) is basically the same thing as GAROPPOLO.
Why not just go get Jimmy G then?
Watson also threw a lot of TD's in college...and won a lot of games...and made a lot of big plays when big plays needed to be made. I get everyone is all up in arms about 17 int's...but understand this dude threw 579 passes, thats about 130 more than Trubisky threw this year. As for the RG3 comparison when it comes to injury...bio-mechanically and physically they are no where near the same. Just watching RG3 move you could tell he would always be injured. This image shows me all I need to know when it comes to RG3 and injury propensity:
Kizer blew away people in his interviews, so not sure how he's all arm no head.
Watson is the best of the three imo, I like Kizer but Watson played the best competition and beat them, I'll take that anydays.
I cannot believe for one moment that GLennon is getting 15 mil a year, unless it's a 1 or 2 year deal. Cutler isn't a bridge person, he shouldn't be any person for the Bears.
B/c Jimmy G is just as much of an unkown as Glennon, and will cost you 15 mil a year(you have to give him a new contract this year or risk losing him to FA) AND you have to give up multiple picks, and one of those is going to be a 1st rounder b/c apparently the Browns are willing to give the 12th overall for him.
Glendon turned down $8M from Tampa and is reportedly going to cost $12-15M on the open market. He's the best FA QB out there and the youngest (not exactly a high bar). If he somehow were Pace's "guy", then I'd say sure GO GET HIM. But he's not. He would be only a bridge or placeholder unless he surprised massively to the upside as a temporary starter. So why pay that much for someone that isn't "your guy" long term?
I wasn't commenting on Kizer's interview skills. It was his decision making with the ball that's in question. Haven't we seen enough of that already?
As for JG, he's probably got a higher ceiling than Glennon, has been better coached and mentored, and is 2 years younger. Again, if you're gonna spend resources like that, then why not go get him over Glennon?
Why are you so sold on Jimmy G nowadays? Why didnt we draft him when we had the chance and what did he do in the meantime to get you all fired up?

Glennon turned down 8 mil from TB, and would have turned down 12-15 b/c he wanted a shot to start.
I have yet to hear that he has issues w/decision making.
What proof does he have for a higher ceiling, and even so does that mean he's worth multiple picks AND a huge contract? At that point, give me a qb from the first 2 rounds that will only cost 1 pick and be on a rookie deal for 3-4 years.

Quite obviously we should have drafted him! And I believe I remember Ric hoping we would at the time. Instead, dumbshit Emery blew the pick on Ego Ferguson. Did Emery have a single defensive draft pick in 3 years that wasn't a bust???

Yes, and JABF was for it too, me too to be perfectly honest. But his body of work in the meantime is not much...

Ric, I'm pretty sure I remember from the old board you really wanting to draft Garoppolo in 2014.
All I'm saying is, if Pace is interested in someone like Glennon, then why not just go get the guy we should have drafted in the first place?

but we need to give picks for JG and not for Glennon!

Yes, sitting behind the GOAT will tend to limit ones opportunities. But he has played well when he called upon. Of course it's nothing but my opinion but I see him as a good combination of readiness, upside, and possible longevity (he's only 25 and is very "low mileage" at this point).

I did, for a 2nd and 4 years of a rookie deal.
B/c it now costs high picks(plural) AND a lot of money(new contract you aren't going to let him ride out his final year of his rookie contract if you think he's the guy), instead of just a lot of money. And again, while I like Jimmy G's upside, he hasn't proven that upside in the few games he's played to have garnered the 2+ picks and big contract that he's going to get NE and himself. And I believe there are qb's in this draft w/every bit, if not more, potential then him.
