We'd have Hoyer as the starter with Glennon backing him up. Tell me that's not a QB dream team.
And I understand Ric's point too. Due to the Bears kicking the QB can down the road and not addressing this issue a few years ago, we now find that we are in a tough situation. There are no easy (good) answers here. It's going to be a painful crap shoot no matter what they do at QB. More than likely the Bears will struggle for at least a few more years before they can bring in a true franchise QB who is worth having here. But how sad is that? It stinks.
I think our remaining options are to "buy" a QB and overpay for a guy who may not be that good. Or, we can over-draft a QB who may not be that good. We could get lucky. But we sure could end up screwed for a few years more here.
That's a 100% correct assessment of things around here . Which is why Pace has to say "F it" and and gamble on the best college option out there - Deshaun Watson .
I say we draft QB at 3 and sign a guy like Glennon as a backup or starter for half a season. Maybe they see Shaw as a Glennon type but I really dont have anything to go by except a few quarters last preseason

Glennon may have to settle for something like a 2 year deal somewhere around $10 million per year. I think he needs to show significant improvement before he gets the big time payday.
But then again, I never thought Osweiler would get the deal he did.
