Patriots backup QB Jimmy Garoppolo says he gets trade news from his mom: ‘They’re good reporters, my family’
The Patriots selected the Eastern Illinois quarterback in the second round of the 2014 NFL draft, but he'd likely have to wait a few years to start in New England if starting means Tom Brady is retired.
Brady, 39, has said he wants to play into his 40s and just won his fifth ring and fourth Super Bowl MPV award for leading the Pats to a 34-28 overtime win over the Falcons.
The Illinois native said "whatever happens, it was meant to be," but admitted his family is excited about rumors involving the Chicago Bears.

“I get asked about (a possible Bears trade) all the time from my friends and family back in Chicago,” Garoppolo said.
“They’re good reporters, my family. But I keep telling them I really don’t know how it would feel until — if it was to happen, I wouldn’t know how I’d feel until it did, you know?"
I would never give them our first, BUT, let me ask you (all) this; would you swap first round picks with the Pats for him? I'm not advocating, just asking.
