I'm beginning to feel a lot more comfortable about the offensive line with this iteration of QB1 in Chicago.  I know I've been critical of the OL for years now.  But piece by piece it looks good as far as building up the quality.  It has been an ongoing process but overall a good one I think.  

I 100% get it, that we all want the splashy player signings and drafts... the shiny toys.  But this Amegadjie draft pick is a good example of how there can be real progress without signing the darlings of the sports media. 

This pick makes the Bears better.  By itself it may not be a big deal, but in the bigger picture, Poles is quietly building up a pretty decent OL piece by piece.  I've reflected upon the OL roster acquisitions since Poles arrived, beginning with Braxton Jones, and right now it's looking pretty good to me.  I feel a whole lot better about bringing in this new rookie QB.  He is coming into a good team situation.  Not perfect.  Nobody gets perfect in the NFL.  But a really good team situation all the same.

What's great about this pick is that the Bears don't have this immediate gaping hole in the line that Kiran needs to fill. There is already in place a starting 5, with some competition at center likely to happen.

It's nice not having to see the Bears throw a 5th round rookie at LT because the line had no depth or talent.

This is how you want to see the team built right.  I got so tired of watching the Bears operating in crisis mode all the time.  No foresight.  Lurching from crisis to crisis - often HAVING to draft a JAG just to check an emergency need box off their list.  

I also like improving our depth on the OL.  Get guys who can be solid backups now, with the upside to be starters.  This is how it is supposed to be, but the Bears just did not do it.  The outcome often was having to sign some overpriced/underperforming veteran just to plug a hole on the OL.
