Not good. Not good at all. They are calling this one mild, and said it happened last week, and is totally unrelated to his sports hernia and previous groin injury . Do you think Horsted would be worth getting activated?
So far Burton has been useless for us. One injury after another for this guy. Sucks really.
He's got his $22-million guaranteed no matter what. Next off-season I'm hoping the Bears can work on upgrading the TE unit. Having solid TEs is an asset to Mitch Trubisky.
feel sorry for the guy. he has the talent but cannot get healthy, reminds me of d rose. wonder were the issue lies.
You're right about having limited draft picks available now. Otherwise, I'd like to see the Bears try to draft a TE next year. I don't know how up to date this is:
LINK By my count, the Bears have six picks in the 2020 NFL Draft. They have their own selections in Rounds 2, 5, 6 and 7 as well as a second-rounder they received from the Raiders in the Khalil Mack trade and a sixth-rounder that can become a fifth-rounder they acquired from the Eagles for running back Jordan Howard.

Burton is on the anti-Robinson track.
Burton started last year hot then faded, now hurt.
Robinson started last year slow then got hot, now healthy.
It sounds very unlikely for him to play week 1 now. Once again, another opportunity for Adam the ghost Shaheen to step up and justify why he was drafted in the 2nd round. BTW, I just looked up Burton's contract and there's no easy out on him until after the 2020 season. Releasing him in a year caries a $7m dead cap hit and only nets $1m in savings.
