The other thing I liked about Pineiro was he nailed something like 3 KO's out of the end zone for touchbacks.
I wasn't aware of that, it's not something Gould started doing until after they moved the kickoff up. Good to know we won't need to have Eddie working on that as well as his accuracy.

I recall at least 2 he boomed to an unreturnable range. Could have been 3, I just don't remember.
Did you guys notice that late in the game Nagy went for it on 4th and 17 rather than attempt another 55+ yarder? I think he wanted Eddy to have that 58 yarder confidence booster going forward and not risk a long range miss souring the moment. Smart psychology there, if you ask me. Nagy is a damn good manager.

Yep confidence is everything to players, you saw Madden doing it w/Yu this year early on, and the 2nd half of the season has been what the Cubs were expecting when they signed him.
Cannot expect a kicker to hit 55-60 yards consistently, so no reason to do it in a meaningless game. Save that for the actual game.

People seriously didn’t like Iggy? His few bad plays stand out and we get heavy reactions toward him. I think he is a ST stud and flashed real abilities.
- Chase Daniel still looks awful. Is there any way we can trade for Grier or Brissett? lol
- At this point I really want Nall to make the team, he's earned it for sure.
- James Vaughters and Ian Bunting also deserve a shot.
- I agree with MP, Bullard looks like he's done.
- Good for Pineiro making that 58 yds FG. I guess he's our kicker now.
- Is it just me, or did the secondary look shaky at times?
Bray looked better than Chase. And I'm not just talking about arm strength, but rather he made better decisions under pressure. Chase just seems to panic too often. Bray isn't a good QB either, but in last night's game he looked like he is actually improving a bit. Chase is at his ceiling and it's a low one. Maybe Bray has a bit of a higher ceiling potential. I understand Nagy wanting a veteran backup who is seasoned enough to not crap the bed if pressed into a game due to Mitch getting injured... but honestly I don't see anything good in Chase Daniels game. I just don't.
Eddy P. killed that kick from 58 yards. It was dead-center accurate and would have been good at 65 yards. Pineiro is plenty accurate. He has a cannon for a leg. He is a young player on the way up in the NFL. This is the guy we want kicking in Soldier Field because I don't think the SF weather will faze him. But. But he will miss a few kicks like every kicker does and I hope the fans can get a grip and understand that just because he misses a few, that doesn't make him = Cody Parkey. It just means that there are no NFL players at any position who do not make a few bad plays. The key is to make sure it's just a "few" missed kicks.
Piniero kick was a good 15 ft above the upright going through from 58 yards. I think all but one of his Kick off's were either deep in the end zone or out of it. Like his leg when the cold and winds kick in, I think he will be good for the future. Chase looked like Cutler running for his life most of the game. We could use an upgrade but doubt we find one this year and Chase D knows the offense atleast. I like this TE Ian Bunting also, hope he makes the roster.

I looked at that kick by Pineiro a few times last night. I was wrong about the 65 yards. It was dead center good. And I agree with you it was well above the crossbar. But looking at it in the replay last night I could see that it died quick after going over the bar. The guy caught it, not too far behind that goalpost. My bad. LOL, I think I was so excited that he made it that I thought it was a longer kick (after crossing the goal post bar) than it actually was.
