LOL, it took me a minute for that to sink in. I'm a bit slow today :-)
I don't know, it could happen. Teams will be double and triple teaming Mack, Floyd should be open and if his coach thinks he has more natural talent he just needs some coaching, why not?
Here's one prediction regarding our season in general, and it will have a residual impact upon those bold prediction players mentioned here.
I keep thinking that 1st game of the season against Green Bay will be a significant factor for players and the team - that first GB game will have a huge impact upon the rest of the 2019 season. I know we often say you can't elevate one game's importance over any other game... a win is a win and a loss is a loss. But in this case I don't buy into that.
If the players execute well in that 1st game of the season then the team will play with hit that 2019 schedule hitting on all cylinders and with a ton of confidence. It will be a huge boost to this team to execute well and blow up GB right outta the chute this year. This is a young team with new players & with a young HC and a DC who is new too. The QB is young and just starting his 2nd season with Nagy's offense. In this case confidence is huge. Especially with a young QB like Mitch. Confidence is a big deal with QBs.
If the players look rough and have a lot of mistakes - and just poor execution with a loss to Green Bay, then I think the team could struggle through the first part of the season as they gain experience and mature as a team as the season goes on. The season could still be a good one. An ugly loss to GB doesn't kill the season by any means. But a well-executed win in that first game would be huge.
1) by the end of the year, if he stays healthy, Mitch won't be the huge questionmark the media/fans think he is now 2) the def will be better then they were last year, even w/the losses of Amos/Callaghan and the tougher schedule 3) Bears will make the playoffs and win a playoff game 4) Monty and Davis will make people forget about Howard 5) Ridley will get more playtime catches and yards then people are going to expect and turn some heads by those that questioned the pick.
