Our offseason WCG roundtable topics are shifting over to the 2019 NFL Draft for the next few articles, and this time we want to know which draft pick made you go hmmm. By Lester A. Wiltfong Jr., Erik Christopher Duerrwaechter, Aaron Leming, Jacob Infante, Sam Householder, Josh Sunderbruch, and Ken Mitchell - May 2nd, 2019
Yesterday we asked you guys to give us your favorite Chicago Bears rookie from both the 2019 NFL Draft and also the reported undrafted free agent haul from Ryan Pace and his scouting staff. But today we’re going to focus on the five draft picks only.
For me its still Ridley and Whyte. But a 4th rounder and a 7th rounder are hard to critize IMO. Both face high odds and there is bound to be someone in hindsight that turns out better.
The only one that bothered me was the 3ft CB they drafted. Mostly b/c there were plent y of DB options there still. Everything else made sense to me.
Tim Jennings was 5' 8" and was a pro-bowl CB. Even as a boundary corner.
Shelley will be strictly a slot CB and is an inch taller (and only 1 inch shorter than Callahan). While he's "on the small side" I wouldn't call it disqualifying. Pace must have liked his game enough to pass on bigger alternatives.

I watch a fair amount of Big 12 football and he was a very good CB for Kansas State. With any luck at all we have a good candidate to replace Callahan.

Reading up on it, there are teams that will take DB's off their board at 5'9" so for some teams it is. There are exceptions to every rule though, but there is a reason they are exceptions. We'll see how this guy wo rks out. I like Pace enough to where I am not to worried about it regardless.
