Take care of my boy! Would love to see him have a big year -- just two poor games against us. lol.
I'm so excited about him in this Nagy offense. There are weapons everywhere now, and the offense is going to be a living nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators to prepare for. The John Fox offense was sooooooo predictable. The Nagy offense is the opposite, and loaded with talent everywhere.

This is where Trubisky having another big improvement from year to year is critical. Nagy's offense is based on the QB seeing/interpreting the defense correctly and calling for the focus the offense to exploit the weakness of the defensive set vs. the offensive personnel he has. If Trubisky can recognize it immediately and go to the correct option 90+ % of the time, we will have an incredible year.
Personally, I think he will do it. But we will find out soon enough.
I'm excited. I'm thinking we won't see the true product until the regular season, so I'm not going to get too worked up (either way) when we see it in the Pre-season games. The first true showcase of the D will be in that first game where we open against Aaron Rodgers' Green Bay Packers offense. AR can get the ball out so fast when he wants to, and can be lethal getting the ball out before the rush (even a solid pass rush) can get to him. If the new Bears D can contain Rodgers and the Bears win that opener, that will be huge. Big test in that 1st game.
Yep, it is a huge test right out of the box. I STILL have painful memories of that first game against the Packers last season. I am sure the players and coaches remember it, too. It is a 60-minute game, and if we can get ahead of Rogers again, let's hope we can stomp them into the ground next time. No mercy!
I guess I am just hoping that we stick pretty much to what was working last year -- not too much blitzing, especially against a guy like Rogers.
I remind myself that one year ago people were talking about the Packers being in the Super Bowl. That sure didn't happen. If the team stays healthy then I think the Bears can be a good playoff team, but then again there are always surprises every NFL season.

I'm not sure how big that first game is for Chicago.. Ur playing a 6 win team.. They are what their record indicates...

Last year's records are not necessarily meaningful in a new season. The Bears were a 5 win team going into last season and won 12 games and the division. Most years the Packers put a solid team out there, and they are led by a Hall of Fame level QB. It is a division game, and that alone makes it big for the Bears. I do believe it is a big game for Chicago. Does it define the season for them? Of course not. But it will be a great first test of how far the Nagy offense has progressed since their first season, and it will show if Trubisky has progressed since his first season in this offense. The Bears D has a new coach too. The entire team has some new key players too.
