I was curious of all the Packers hate of Ha Ha so with little digging I found this article.
Going to the Pro Bowl after the 2016 season might have been the worst thing to happen for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix’s football career.
One of the great mysteries of the 2017 and ’18 Green Bay Packers is what happened with Clinton-Dix. He went from the verge of stardom to an underperforming, discontented player the Packers had no qualms trading to Washington this week for a fourth-round draft pick.
At age 25, Clinton-Dix should have be hitting his peak as an NFL safety, yet he has regressed to the point where the Packers considered the former first-round draft pick part of the problem, not part of the solution, to their defensive issues.
. . .
He thought he’d arrived, but all he did was play his way out of town.
My 2¢ on this is, he's not the only playmaker on the D now. He's been humbled by the trade to Washington and the lack of money going his way this FA. We got him at the right time where he is going to want to, have to, prove it to get paid for his next contract. He has vets in the room that will keep him straight and a friend who will make playing the right way more enjoyable. If he doesn't work out, I trust (hope) Bush to be able to steal his position if the opportunity opens up. Either way, the value was just too perfect.
No idea what the hell happened to him the last two years. He foolishly gambled way to often leading to big plays. Selfish. Maybe he gets back to pro bowl form with the bears. He was brutal with us and wasn’t much with the skins.

After 2016 he looked poised for super-stardom but then things went south. Some of that can probably be explained by the Packers D, secondary especially, falling off a cliff but in all fairness HHCD has to accept some responsibility too. If the above is accurate, he's gotten a big comeuppance the last year being traded for a relative pittance and then signing a pretty cheap one-year prove-it type deal. He's got a huge chance to reboot his career on a stacked defense. It he can't regain his form with Pagano and a bunch of pro-bowlers surrounding him, then he will have no excuses.
Bears needed a vet stopgap safety opposite Jackson, especially on the cheap, and they got one. Its up to him to maximize the opportunity and the Bears will definitely have to draft another S this year to develop because HHCD will be a one-year rental only almost for sure.
BTW, I liked Amos a lot and was sorry to lose him (though I understand why it had to happen). You guys got a solid, reliable, salt of the earth type player. I wish him tremendous success every game except those vs the Bears lol.
i think this is a great play by Ha Ha. if he only does what he is asked he'll command much more next year. EJ is a player that lets other dbs play aggressive on routes because of his range. Fuller with EJ on one side opposite HA HA and Prince. i expect a lot of complimentary play and these safeties have played together before. packers were poorly coached and while that imo was a HC first problem, you can bet that both sides weren't getting the coaching they needed. Ha Ha didn't lose the ability to make plays, he made bad judgment calls. if he had never shown good judgment i'd be concerned.
not saying he's a world beater but at 3.5 mil this is the best value + talent you're gonna get.
something that got brought up on 670 today was that the buster and haha moves are a sign that the team wants aggressive dbs, they arent looking for just a solid in the box safety.

Everything I've read about Pagano is he likes aggressive play in DBs. So this fits in with his style.
Bears fans know firsthand how good Clinton-Dix can be. He’s thrived against Chicago; nine of his 14 interceptions have come against the Bears.
The best thing about Clinton-Dix’s signing might just be the contract. Pace stole him. He’s joining the Bears on a one-year, $3.5 million deal. There’s a very good chance he could have the best season of his career in Chicago’s defense, and he’ll probably make a lot more splash plays than Amos.
Signing Clinton-Dix was another stroke of genius by Pace. He allowed the market to eat itself alive with some of the massive contracts paid to safeties like Landon Collins, Earl Thomas, Tyrann Mathieu, and even Amos, and swooped in for Clinton-Dix who on any given Sunday will have just as strong of an impact.
“Eddie played a big role,” Clinton-Dix said Friday via the team’s website. “He’s always been a fan of mine since he came to Alabama. He talked to me in this process about the culture in Chicago and I bought in. I was on for the ride, and I’m excited about it.
“Me and Eddie, we’re very similar players and that makes it tough on quarterbacks. We both can play left and right. It’s going to be fun and a challenge for other teams.”
“No. 1 defense and I’m joining it?” Clinton-Dix said. “This is a special defense. It’s a special core. I want to come in and prove myself to be a part of something special. With so many alpha dogs on the defense, that’s rare, and they’re having fun doing it.
