Dom Capers (former GB DC) was a hack. And the Packers D, especially in the secondary, has really been awful last 4 years or so. I was shocked when they let him go, and so cheaply, as well. Most teams don’t jettison a 1st round pick unless he’s really really bad or gets arrested.
And HaHa wasnt that bad, im not sure but didnt he go to pro bowl?
I believe he did once. As I recall and I could be a little off here, he had a so-so rookie year learning the ropes (like most do) and the ascended to reach the pro bowl year 3.
I have watched a lot of Packers games. He always seems to be around the ball and he is a heavy hitter. Also is a sure tackler. I like the signing.
thing is Bob, and I guess im in minority (Packers sure didnt think so, and they know best) but I always felt HaHa is better than Amos, so im still in awe.
I wonder if it was something like we had in B.Marshall. I highly competitive player that was getting sick of losing.
I am not saying that GB is a losing team. I think it was more like he was getting sick of the AR love fest and wanted the team to know that the D was not half bad. I think he jumped at the chance to compete against AR.

I like this signing a lot. Honestly I wouldn't worry too much about the Packers trading him. I know what the papers in WI and even ptisme said about him, but quite frankly, he was the best defensive player GB had. Let's not act as if the Packers did the right move back then. Their defense has been holding them back for years and management hasn't exactly shown a lot of competence in that area, so why would you trust their judgement all of a sudden?
Ha Ha just turned 26 in December and has never missed a game during his five years in the league. I would put him on the same level as Amos and the fact that we got him for a third of the price makes it even sweeter.
Holy crap, just $3.5M?!?! That's insanely good value!!
It's funny to see the Bears and Packers trade safeties... I do think Amos is better, but Clinton-Dix is close. And I remember reading that the Packers weren't going to pay Clinton-Dix, which is why they traded him. But just $3.5M... I'm still having a hard time wrapping my mind around that number while some bad players are getting paid at ridiculous rates this free agency. Congratulations, Bears! That's one heck of a signing.

It's being reported that Dix was offered more money by other teams but he wanted to play here in Chicago. It wasn't too long ago that FAs shunned coming here. Cool to see how times have changed.

It's amazing how not having Mike Glennon as your starting QB will do for FA interest.
*yes i don't like PFF so it does bring that stat into question, BUT

HHCD over his first 4 years was clearly the better S; and at this time he was playing FS mainly.
If he was struggles to w/missed tackles, or has terrible angles or gets burned so bad that he's never in position to make a tackle, what is going on w/Amos?
