Bears make Akiem Hicks a gameday addition to injury report Posted by Josh Alper on September 28, 2017, 11:13 AM EDT Getty Images
The Bears have made a late addition to their injury report for Thursday night’s game against the Packers.
Defensive lineman Akiem Hicks has been designated as questionable to play due to a foot injury. Hicks was not listed with an injury on any of the team’s practice reports this week.
There’s no word about when or how Hicks sustained the injury, but the more significant question for the Bears might be how they’ll handle life without Hicks. He’s a key part of their defense and the Bears would like to exploit a Packers line that’s likely to be missing both tackles when Thursday night’s game gets underway.
The Bears have already ruled out safety Quintin Demps and linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski is set to miss a second game with a pec injury after being listed as doubtful.
He is a big part of our offense (pun intended). They have two starting tackles out, so we will see which injured line is better. They had better be using Floyd to rush this week.
True. They say questionable, but to add him on the injury report on gameday is either misdirection or he won't play. We will see soon enough.
He's listed as questionable which to me means he's at least 50% likely to play if not more. Fox likes to get cute with stuff like this before a game so who really knows. We'll find out tonight just how hurt Hicks really is.

Most likely, this means Hicks suffered or aggravated the injury sometime on Wednesday, which is not a good sign. He’s been arguably the team’s best defensive player this season, and on a short week, they’re going to need his consistency against the division rival.
If Hicks can’t go, Jonathan Bullard is expected to get the start opposite Mitch Unrein in the Bears’ base 3-4 defense. However, given the rotation already taking place behind the veterans, Roy Robertson-Harris would also be in line for significantly more snaps, particularly in passing situations.
This team is already banged up at inside linebacker, and losing Hicks from the defensive line for this game would make the interior of this defense that much more thin.
