So Belli. Enjoy your Bears games. Me, I enjoy pointing out the stuff that has made this a losing organization for so long. Maybe I just care a little more about that than you do.
Do you enjoy pointing it out to give yourself a sense of control or to make yourself feel smart? That's not meant as a snarky comment, a serious one. As far as you caring more, I don't particularly care if you care more or less about the Bears. I'm a Bear's fan - we both are. That's good enough for me... Again though, this isn't a job for me, it's entertainment and I try to keep it as such.
No. I don't automatically assume I'm any smarter than anyone else and the only control I'll ever have is over me.
You have control over you and you alone too so enjoy the games. If they are enough entertainment for you that's fine. I don't mind that all. As for the rest the fact that I am more critical of the Bears in many respects tends to confirm that I do care more about how they're managed and perform than other who are willing to give them more of a break. I did that for many years but I'm not willing to do it any longer. Just don't attack me for it OK?
Based on that alone I would say that I tend to care more about the crappy product the McCaskeys keep providing fans and the teams crappy play than some. That's just a common sense assumption that has little of nothing to do with intelligence. At least not to me.
I understand some here wanting to defend Cooper but what he did was no mistake. What he did was an purposeful ego driven showboat that could of cost us the game. He knew what he was doing when he slowed down.
I understand players make mistakes but let's be correct in what should be consider a mistake.
And THAT is the same point I've made all along. In fact it's the only real point I've made all along.

He did something stupid. Call it anything you want to, but it's over now and won't happen again.
I think he had a great game as a CB, but that 'mistake' could've cost us the game. And unfortunately it wasnt a mistake. I hope he was at least fined (a nice big fine is also a nice way to learn), cos he ate days, maybe weeks of our lives and made us a laughin' stock even in a win. Even some Croatian fbook pages covered that action, and this is the first time they shared anything football related, so...

There has been a lot of this slowing down to take a slow last step over the goal line on the NFL recently.
I am wondering if a ref will throw a unsportsmanlike conduct flag for taunting on this.

That is the most stupid thing a footballer can do.

Personally I really don't care much for this situation after we won but I do believe this pity party for cooper would not be a thing if the Bears had lost.

LOL, probably a lot of truth in that motm - for me anyway :-)
I am just happy we won, and this kid looks pretty decent to me as a player. If we had lost because of him I'd probably be more upset than I am.
If we'd lost the game, some would wrongly blame the Cooper moment. I was over it almost as fast as it happened mainly because if we just erase Cooper being there to recover the ball, we'd all be celebrating the blocked kick. The blocked kick itself was a good enough play. The fact we got three points off of it because Cooper picked it up and ran it down field was bonus material.
I know a lot of pessimistic people who can only see the bad in any given situation are going to dwell on it for some sadistic reason. Clearly Fox, and Rodgers, and Fangio and most importantly Cooper didn't dwell on it. I guess that's what this board is though for some, a whine fest. Blame the team's problems on one play (that was actually good until the end) instead of the 70+ other snaps in the game that could have affected the outcome.
I do enjoy your posts Belli and I'm happy you're part of the board, however everytime someone starts criticizing a player you call him out. You do realize that pointing out a shitty play or crappy player and talking about it doesn't equal a whine fest. Jesus.
Maybe we're a bunch of "pessimistic people" but you my friend are a little too apologetic. You always make it sound like everything's okay even when it's clearly not.

Maybe you're too nice.
Could be. As a person I'm pretty optimistic and, in addition to that, I try to think about the other perspective and focus on expanding it. I also think theres a lot of bitching and moaning that happens here and in society at large and it annoys me. Sorry about that...
