Excuses and reasons are a fine line, but at some point you want to know "Are they trying to fix the reasons" or are they just making the same excuses/reasons as always.
At the moment, it seems that we can sign anyone and make them injury prone, and God forbid we bring back the "rod insertion" that has been so popular over the last few seasons.
What we all want is a team that is competitive, a team that is consistent and a team that looks like there is and upside. I don't look at this team, with Fox in charge and see a reason for any upside. The whole thing needs a shake up and that's going to have to be 1. Head Coach and No.2 QB. We have a chance at QB, we need to find a HC that can fit him and improve the team.
Hopefully the head coach will have contacts that bring in the right talent at the positions he wants. After all that's why you sign a guy like Fox who has been around, you want to use his contacts/experience in the game to get some good players. I'm not sure he has that pulling power to make people believe in him or his way anymore.
I don't think we are the "best" at making excuses for losing. I see a lot of pissed off people. Myself? I didn't like it and I was "hoping" for more yesterday, but I wasn't "expecting" it. There are excuses and there are reasons. The line between the two can be pretty fine in our normal everyday vernacular. An English language guru can draw a clear line, but for most of us...
Ultimately, injuries will kill a good team faster than anything. We are NOT a good enough team to overcome even a few injuries, but if you get a large amount, forget it. Is that an excuse? I don't think so, but who gives a shit what you wanna call it. It is what it is and some are no ones fault.
Ultimately, is there anyone here that expected anything other than an 0-4 record for our first quarter of the season? If there is, I think we were being a little unrealistic. There were some boneheaded plays yesterday (Mr. Cohen) and some truly shitty QB play. I'm over it. Time to move on. I pretty much think it's time for Fox and Glennon to move on too, but really, what difference will it make for this year. Until we have good team health and/or better depth and a good QB (Trubs) we are not going to win a lot of games, it's just that simple. I will watch the games, (and fast forward through a lot of it like I did yesterday) and wait for the Trubisky era with great anticipation. Mike Glennon ain't gonna cut it.
Those are all good points. I just figure we are looking at another year of watching a crappy team lose. I don't really care about the reasons at this point (I should, but I don't, anymore). I just know that we are losers. Again.
