Defensive Line: Assuming we don't go out and grab Jonathan Allen or Solomon Thomas with our first pick, I REALLY like Chris Wormley and his potential fit with the Bears. His profile highlights his work ethic and leadership on the field. Lance Zierlein describes him as one "who brings leadership and high character into the locker room. Wormley's size and athleticism could appeal to teams that favor big, strong base ends who can set a physical edge and then bump inside as pass rushers." These characteristics fit with what Pace and Fox both have articulated as desirable qualities in their players. Wormley looks like a good fit assuming he reaches a worthy spectrum of selection.
So, now that I've articulated some of my favorite day 2-3 prospects, who do you all have your sights set on?
Wormley would be a solid pickup. I was reading his scouting reports today and it sure sounds like he'd be a good young addition to the DL and a great pick in the 3rd round if he were there. I wonder though if he will last that long.
I like ALL the guys you mentioned above Belli, but since you're asking, I would be very happy to see Garett Bolles, OT, Utah in the 2nd. He may not make it to us, but if he does, I'd like to see it happen. Sooner or later we're going to have a young QB, and the middle of our O-Line is looking very good, but two of our most critical positions (OT and both sides) are a little suspect. I would like to see our Tackles improved on our O-Line for the next decade.
The unfortunate reality is that we have so many areas of relative weakness, that there are many guys that should be able to help us become better. Thus, the BPA theory really works for us at this point. It's hard to "not" like a guy because of the position he plays.
I know it won't happen but if Cory Davis is somehow still on the board in Rd 2 he would look really good with a "C" on his helmet. He reminds me of Terrell Owens without all the crap.

Don't disagree. The premise of the thread is who do YOU like - who do YOU see as fits. In the pre-draft blah, I find it entertaining to try to find the players I think fit well with this team. Reading over profiles I saw two more players who fit that bill: Garrett Bolles and Dan Feeney. If the Bears can position themselves to have a mid-late 2nd round selection or another early third, it's possible one of these two makes it that way. They both are excellent zone blockers with great athleticism and seem to fit what the offense of the Bears is looking to utilize.
A later selection would be Erik Magnuson who also seems to have some of the athleticism to block in space and get down field for a zone team. Since little talk has been made regarding linemen, I felt like throwing these names in the hat for discussion purposes.

That's why going into FA trying to fill holes w/several tier 2 FA's, all upgrades over what you have/had as a hole, is better then getting 1 or 2 tier 1 FA's. Now there are less holes on the Bears team and you can now take that bpa approach AND field comfortable that if you missed something it's still covered.

I guess... im pretty torn between those 2 'strategies'... Although, I must admit, there werent any prize FA this year. Only 2 I saw before start, for us, were Jimmy G and Eric B. Thats pretty much it.
