I love Parcell's but so much of what he did was eon's ago for where the NFL is now. I think some of it has a lot of merit still, but man some is very dated.
Oh, I don't disagree, but what he's looking at (# of starts, wins, graduation, and, to a lesser importance to me, being a senior) can transcend time. It's a way to test the quality of a person and take stats in context. It's not everything and you could miss a top guy sticking exclusively to it, but it's something to think about.
See that's the thing, how many of these kids that have this kind of talent are waiting for their senior year, and therefore have any chance of graduating?
Floyd was a "wasted pick", EE was a "wasted pick", shit I hope we get a team full of your "wasted picks"
Floyd wasn't mainly a pass rusher in college. From the information we had on him he was a wasted pick. Took him until Mcphee got back to finally start something. Still very sloppy and for that reason has 2 concussions...
EE is a wasted pick. We got someone who is #2 in yards for a 5th round pick. Our RB is far cheaper than the Cowboys and allowed us to get another starter with our 1st.
Funny how you don't mention White? Would that prove I'm right?
Seriously dude just stop. Saying EE is a wasted pick is just pure ignorance.

Like I said, the senior thing is less important, but with how many QBs fail, a player getting a QB is important bc it shows intelligence and foresight. Besides, between redshirting and th fact most of them take BS degrees that only require 3 years of schooling, they should have 0 problems graduating.

Edit: Not worth it, rather not make this into an Elliott was or wasn't worth that pick.
VT is my college team. This guy is making a mistake coming out right now. He COULD be a 1st rouder if he continues to improve his second year at VT. I have no issue on a mid round pick chance on him. Someone is give him bad advice.

Good to hear from a VT follower regarding him. Just from watching him on video he certainly looks like a raw talent. But he sure looks like a guy who would be worth developing. Right now I am re-watching the Belk Bowl where VT sucked the first half against Arkansas and fell behind 24-0. Then they come out the 2nd half and reel off 35 points to win 35-24.
Here's his season stats. For a first year at VT I thought he did one heck of a job:

Still....great to have other options if Pace goes non-QB in the 1st.

+1 I'm trying to not die of boredom this off-season, and one way I'm doing that is to have some fun getting more familiar with the draft prospects, and not just the 1st round darlings of the draft. I stumbled across this guy and was impressed with him as a prospect QB.
You guys probably all saw more college football than I did. I really don't watch it much. But I'm finding it fun to watch the games now.
