Thomas Brown comes across as a more dynamic guy than Waldron. I thought he handled the presser well today. His speaking style reminded me a bit of Mike Tomlin. Maybe this is a good guy for the situation. Inheriting an offense mid-season is pretty tough. This is not his offense that he inherited. And he can't install a new offense mid-season. He can probably (hopefully) prepare the offense better and call a better game - and he mentioned being direct with players coaching them. It sure sounds like that could help these guys getting them to perform better. It may be especially helpful working with Caleb to get better.

If nothing else, based on the assumption that there was truth in the rumor that the players wanted Waldron gone, the players should be putting maximum effort into this game for the new OC.

He sure sounds like a guy who is sharp. I liked his answer regarding the mentors who have helped him learn his craft as a coach to this point (actually I loved that answer). He comes across as a no-bull guy who would tell players what they NEED to hear rather than walk on eggshells around them. I'm not saying anything gets better now, but I would not rule it out that the last half of this season ends up being better than we fear. And again, all I really care about is to see Caleb improve. Not for wins but more for the future of this franchise. We need this QB to be a success.
