Obvious step. Had to be done. Flus just signed his own HC death certificate with the move as well...so I wonder how much of this was really him "going through his process" or the higher up's telling him what was going to happen.
Yeah. You do have to wonder that. And I also wonder why Poles did not also relieve him.
Flus ALSO needs to go. When it gets to the point that players are coming to you (and I'm sure if that's the case, it has been happening for a while) then that means you are not seeing what you should have been seeing. The guy sucks. Plain and simple.
It sounds pretty weird when players are saying this is a "player run team" and they have these "players only" meetings to decide what to do. Players running the team now? Just what does that mean? I think while 'Flus was "looking inward" the monkeys got the keys to the zoo...
Whatever it is, it sounds like the wheels have totally come off the wagon for this team.
Well, if the HC can't run it, someone has to. That is a serious statement. I think they see that nothing is happening and so they are trying to provide their own direction as best they can.
I didn't see this coming. I would have preferred for Flus to be fired., but who else would the interim head coach? It is a start though.

I agree.. He does need to go. But I don't see an viable alternative for him for the rest of the season. Fire him after the season is over.

Brown may be a better interim HC than OC, but then who would be the interim OC? It's a real mess
Wait, Braggs thinks the Bears can get Harbaugh? Pipe dream. One, he is very happy with the Chargers. Two, one big reason he went there is Justin Herbert. Ever hear him talk about Herbert? It's not just coach talk. He feels he has his franchise QB for another 10 years at least.
He's was referring to last offseason. He was a big proponent of JH back then, as was I.
There's plenty of people who will say stuff like: "Harbaugh didn't want the job".
BS
He would have gladly taken the Bears job given his history and the chance to coach up Caleb Williams and the weapons around him. He even dropped hints in the media that he would be interested.
The higher ups in the Bears stupid organization didn't want to pay him, didn't want to give him the influence he wanted, and in general can't stand the idea of having a HC with a media personality.
"For the uninitated, this is how things go in Chicago. George McCaskey hires a defensive-minded coach who checks all the Good Guy boxes, and things go okay for a little bit. The defense gets good, which Chicago loves, and people start believing again. Then they draft a great quarterback with a ton of potential with the idea that he'll be the world's best replacement-level game manager. Chicago doesn't love that as much. After that comes a bunch of really tone-deaf answers from said head coach, a few mid-season desparation moves, and then eventually his pink slip. The QB moves on somewhere else and looks salvagable, but the cycle begins anew in Chicago. Somewhere in there, they lose to the Packers. Time is a flat circle."
