But, and I do like this, there aren't the multiple turnovers you'd expect from a rookie QB. knock on wood.
He had some at the beginning but he has really done a good job of stemming that. I think the next thing we will see from him is that he will get smarter on being able to avoid those dumb sacks he takes and get rid of the ball better. And finally, I hope he settles down (or whatever is causing it) and gets back to being more accurate.
So far, you really can't complain too much. He has grown a lot and seems to continue to "get it" more and more. I like that he was able to win the game for us in the last few seconds before we gave it right back.

I will say that Caleb can't trot out there Sunday and get completely outplayed by Kyler Murray. If that happens the whispers of "bust" will turn up a decibel. I am not saying I believe he is on the road to being a bust, but some in the media are just waiting to lean in that direction and amp up that narrative.
Caleb needs to go out there and have at least a decent to good game, and get the win. The other is not an option.

I know. I myself have PTSD and am in a way dreading him to bust, but I do like what I see so far. Definitely not as good as I would like, but if I am being honest, probably better than I expected. He does definitely need to get off to a better start and improve his accuracy. He does those two things, I think we are good.

I think my PTSD is more due to the coaching than the QBs we've had. Time and time again, we have had bad QBs, but we've also had some decent ones. Coaching matters more than a lot of fans give credit for. Chicago is where QBs go to die, or rather, get ruined. I think Waldron is in the process of ruining the first really good QB we've had since, well, forever. I hope that Caleb is good enough to overcome Waldron. Maybe the Offense should just get together and make their own playbook and call their own plays. I'm sure we'd be better off.

I watch & rewatch all the Caleb I can. I don't think he's physically behind. I do think he's mentally amazingly advanced - like, more in control of the offense already than many pro QBs ever are.
I agree with above that he seems very conscious of turning the ball over. That does make sense, given the strength of the D and the knowledge that the offense can put up drives & points very well. The one thing he doesn't want to do is turn it over.
Sunday he & the WRs were out of synch and I believe it was a combination of timing being thrown off by a D who may be average but were very prepared to take away what the Bears wanted to do for a good chunk of the game until the Bears reacted (and Caleb made some effing magic happen). He threw behind guys a few times and it looked like they just weren't on the same page or he was hurried and it was "throw it where the D isn't & hope the WR can get it". On the DJ end zone fade I"m not sure he was inaccurate. It was almost like DJ was early and if he arrived a half-second later would have caught a perfect pass only he could catch with two feet in before going out of bounds. DJ seemed early and maybe 3 feet to the left of where Caleb expected him.
We've seen Caleb be deadly with accuracy the last several weeks. He has it - 100%. There are many other factors that make it look like a throw was off, and I strongly believe that's what we saw.

Not arguing with you or disagreeing with you because I simply don't know. But how can you be sure about this? I mean it keeps happening
