Welcome to the board. I am a Bears fan who doesn't hate the Packers. Healthy rivalry instinct for sure, but no hate. Have great memories of fun times in Wisconsin growing up. Bears have been garbage for far too long and it's time to make this rivalry competitive again. Anyway...
You're getting my biases here but here goes:
Bears should beat the Commanders regardless of Daniels. Bears are the better team. Main caveats are Dan Quinn is a better HC than Flus and Wash is at home. I'm going Bears 24-20 even with Daniels playing.
If Mariota is playing, Bears have zero excuse for losing. They should win comfortably something like 27-13.
Having said all that, Flus has normally sucked coming out of the bye and Bears O is still struggling in the 1st Q so they could easily blow it.
PS: I know Kingsbury well. Have lived in AZ for many years and know him from his time with the Cards. KK's offense tends to start hot and then fizzle as the season goes along. He runs a lot of one-read, dump it off on a screen if it isn't there kind of stuff. Bears secondary is really, really good so I'm not expecting Daniels to be able to hit a bunch of big throws like he's been doing.
We will see what happens Sunday. Should be a good game.
I think you'll find most of us aren't exactly enamored with Eberflus as a HC. I know he was hired in as a first time HC and was thrown in to a total tank & rebuild. But he has made some really terrible coaching decisions in the time he's been here. As a fan, of course I want to see the Bears just spank Washington. But as you rightly said, they've looked like a contender in the making and it will be a fun game to watch.
