If all he can muster is a few scores, 10 points, then no he doesnt
Is that his fault, the WR drops, or the penalties? IMO, I blame the WRs dropping the ball and the penalties more than Barkley.
Agree with time to move on from Cutler and cut Hoyer. FA/Draftee/Shaw/Barkley ... Next TC/PS should be interesting.
Shark, he didn't have a good game, his ball placement wasn't as good as it has in the past. And in the end the O didn't score points, that's the QB's job, drive the field, score. The team had 3 points at the half, that wasn't all on WR's today, that wasn't on the OL not blocking, or drawing flags. That was on the Bears O not working
The game wasn't on live TV for me so I had to watch parts of it on the Red Zone channel. Everything I saw led me to believe that Barkley was one of the biggest reasons they were as close to winning as they were.

The 10 points wasn't on him, IMHO. He did his part. I about stroked out over some of those drops. The stupid penalties were crippling on drives too. I'm not saying anything definitive about him yet, but we'd be nuts not to at least "consider" the guy worth a TC invite next summer. We need a solid backup QB next year. This may (may) be that guy.

Gotta disagree w/you. There were some bad penalties and some bad drops, but there were also some really bad passes, inaccurate and some pretty easy int's that got dropped by Det also.
That Det Def is soft, and there is no reason they couldn't move the ball in the 2nd qtr, and only could muster 10 points on the game. The WR's and RB's and OL weren't the only reason for the loss, some of that lands on the QB also.

The point I am trying to make is that the guy deserves to be:
1. Evaluated in these 3 remaining games, and his entire body of work looked at. 2. He should get a TC invite and allowed to compete for at least a backup job.
Ric, that sounds reasonable to me. We are going to probably need a backup QB in addition to a starting QB next season. Why on earth would we not at least invite this kid to camp?

I agree, he needs to be evaluated, but some had already talked like he earned a shot next year; and all I was saying is this O needs to score more then 10 points in the next few games for that to be a given.

+1 I totally agree. My hope is that we see quality competition at all positions in TC. Especially at QB.
