Best film breakdown - this is "must see" stuff.

I know... it's beyond my comprehension that the OL is this bad.  My fav "Three Stooges Play" was the one where Nate Davis ignores the D guy - and instead throws a block at his own player (the equally inept Lucas Patrick).  Poor old Patrick was having to fight off the Packer guy and his own teammate.... you can't make this stuff up it's so bad.

EDIT:  One additional thing... did you see how bad the snaps were there from Patrick?  Holy moley.  Fields was looking like a short stop trying to field those things.

I wasn't trying to give an excuse, merely an understanding and a reason why I've heard people in the past say, go after a qb like Drew Brees, who wasn't surrounded by NFL talent at WR, from smaller schools that don't have studs everywhere. And you are correct, OSU has a better OL then the Bears normally do. All the more reason that guys from the larger schools might tend to struggle in the NFL.

I'm a fan of Fields, I don't think they gave him near enough yet to ever develop him, but absolutely they'll dump him if he continues to miss the types of throws he did against GB. 

O'Sullivan's breakdown of those missed opportunities was very alarming.  On the plays where Getsy didn't go clown college and the pass pro was decent (and they definitely were some), Fields left plays on the table.

He's either not seeing the field well or the coaches have sucked all the life out of him.  I couldn't believe some of those open throws he DIDN'T even try.  

I think they finally broke Fields.  We've seen this before.  QBs come here and actually regress.  You were right about how the Bears needed to put max resources into the offense this year.  Actually this should have been the case before Fields was even drafted.  And this is why just drafting another QB won't solve the disease here.  It will throw the fanbase a bone because it will shut us up for a couple of year (the McCaskeys run this scam on us because it works).  You don't have to win.  Just draft a Grossman, or make a Cutler like deal... toss in a Trubisky or Fields - and us rubes will continue to root for the team, buy the tickets and merch - and the McCaskey family laughs all the way to the bank.

Drafting another QB won't solve one damn thing here.  It really won't even treat the "symptoms" - and it sure as hell won't cure the disease.  This franchise is totally clueless about how to build an NFL offense.  And even more clueless as to what to do with a QB coming out of college to play here.  We have eyes and can see what they do to QBs here.  They destroy them.  If I was a college kid and heard the Bears call my name on draft night, I would crap my pants.  Because my NFL career just ended - before I even played my first NFL game.  It is over if you come here as a QB.  Yes, a top QB is going to a bad team every year... but the Chicago Bears are not just a "bad team" but one that destroys QBs.  It's pretty sick what happens here.

You were right.  Should have built the offense first.  I mean... the D still sucks anyway.  What did we profit by not going all in on the offense.
