"It was a worst-case scenario" - It was 2022 all over again.

Why? Goff was carried to the Super Bowl and was never good. Jay Cutler had real talent. 

But he's not. He made it to the Super Bowl because he had a really good RB and good defense. Cutler was physically a better player. 

Lions have a great OL -- makes Goff look good

Packers have a good OL -- made Love look good on Sunday

Eagles have a stud OL -- made Hurts elevate to MVP last year

We simply don't have a good enough OL right now to teach Fields the finer points of the straight-drop pocket passing game.  I get it's something he will need to improve upon but back-burner that crap at least until Jenkins returns and you feel better about your pass pro.  

That's "it" in a nutshell.  You can't be a pocket quarterback on a team that doesn't have a pocket to pass from.  LOL, this isn't rocket science here.  It's "Football 101" stuff.  Get an OL that can give the QB a pocket to pass from and then see if the QB can be a good pocket passer.  Right now we can't even evaluate that part of Fields' game.  I'm thinking Fields may be damaged goods now and seeing ghosts for the rest of whatever NFL career is left for him after this year.  He looked like a guy who has regressed from 2022.  He is staring down receivers more than I've ever seen before.  He is not processing the game quickly... or accurately.  And the play calling is so bad right now.  It all adds up to a big mess.  It's the football equivalent of having your toilet back up into your home spewing crap all over.  This offense is kind of like that mental picture for me.  Ugly and stinks - and it's going to be a tough nasty job to clean this up.  And I'm not sure these coaches have the mental gears to clean up this mess - LOL, they're the ones who plugged this toilet to begin with.
