I was just reading the ptisme comment in the Shoutbox about the Packers starting WRs (due to injuries) will be a group with only 10 catches in their careers... that's between them all. That coupled with Aaron Rodgers not there is going to make the Packers offense pretty one-dimensional for our defense. I'm thinking (now) that the Bears defense should be good. If our OL can at least be "okay" then this should be a good game for us and a win.
But that being said, how often do we struggle with Green Bay anyway? There are very few easy games against them - going back many years.
Wow, how things have changed huh?
Most Bears-Packers games the last 10+ yrs were Bears with a mediocre-at-best QB and a WR room made up of rejects, rookies, and JAGs. Now it's Green Bay's turn to experience that.
Looks like Watson isn't gonna play so that leaves Doubs, a 2nd yr player, and a bunch of rooks and UDFAs at WR and TE.
I know. It's a weird feeling but a good one. I just hope the Bears line play on both sides of the ball is good (I'll even take average as good). You'd think that if they could start the season at that level, then they should improve somewhat as the season progresses - especially the OL as they get game experience as a set unit. Then (LOL, I know I'm pipe-dreaming here) if Jenkins can come back and STAY healthy the rest of the season, that unit should be very good. At that point they will have 4 or 5 games under their belt (Wright in particular should be better with real game reps).
I just don't want to see a clown show on the OL with Fields being roadkill. Is that too much to hope for :-)

To everyone outside Chicago shitting on Justin Fields for his “lack of passing skills”, hope they all watched the so-called future GOAT play tonight with below mediocre skill position players and without his HOF TE.

And to all the Bears fans who indulge in "what if" phantasies about what would have happened if we had drafted Mahomes instead of Trubisky in 2017.

I would say that Mahomes last night looked like Fields did last year.
He was ALL ALONE out there yesterday. He had to scramble and run to keep drives alive. The OL was leaky. His passing accuracy suffered as a result of the above.
Don't want to overreact to one game of course but I'll bet Andy Reid is concerned about the left side of his OL and his lack of receiving weapons after Kelce. If they don't find some fixes for those problems soon, they're gonna get passed by in the ultra-competitive AFC.
Worried about our OL, really am. I never think about other team, let them think bout their problems.
Davis is the unknown. But if he can perform and Jenkins comes back healthy for the last 75% of the season, this OL will be good, especially the running game.

There is a difference between a team that wins a couple of championships and a real dynasty. What KC does now will determine what their legacy will be.

IDK details of their cap situation but I imagine it isn't good if they're balking at paying Chris Jones--a stud interior pass rusher in his prime.
They let key WRs like Hill, Hardman, Watkins all go and seemingly have replaced them with young draft picks that don't look ready and one of David's "lost dogs" in Kadarius Toney, who was a 1st round bust castoff from the NYG. They replaced both OTs too and probably overpaid for Taylor at LT.
I'm sure they will bounce back from week 1 but yeah they don't look as dominant as many thought.
