I just watched a live Matt Eberflus press conference on YT. I expect it will get repackaged by the Bears media organization. The press conference physically starts about 22:20 into the current video. It was republished and the link has been updated.
Some very interesting items:
He announced that Peterman was released, and that Tyson Bagent is the #2 QB. There were questions about having a more veteran 3rd QB on the roster and Eberflus indicated they were actively pursuing a veteran QB (not named).
There was a related discussion of releasing PJ Walker with guaranteed money. Eberflus indicated that while they don't like doing that, there was an open competition that was generated by the high level of play shown by Bagent and that he won. So, the other guys were released. In this discussion Eberflus said that they have some concerns if Bagent need to fill in for several games and that he is not fully up to speed with the week-to-week speed of game planning. Sounds to me that Bagent will end up as the #3 QB if they find a decent veteran backup QB.
There were questions about the health of the O-Line and Eberflus indicated that the only starter that is in risk if not playing against GB is Teven Jenkins. He was specifically asked about Nate Davis and Eberflus said that Davis is "on track" to start week 1.
