why? they haven't tried to gone all in on this O since Nagy's 2nd year. DJ Moore and nothing, an OT and nothing. This O needed a ton of help and got whatever the def could spare. Ya the def needed help also, but the def being bad doesn't prevent the team from knowing what they have in their QB before they have to sign him. Def could suck for the next 3 years and it won't change their ability to win/compete. The QB and the O are what matters right now; and Pace/Poles have largely ignored it since Fields was drafted.
That doesn't include 2 new TEs and extending the #1 either.
Simply false
Claypool was a desperation trade for a mid WR, not a 2 b/c they ignored it in the draft, which hurt the draft this year by having to over pay for him.
I gave Moore already
Davis and Wright were 2 pieces and you can now see how they weren't enough. Talked all offseason how that OL needed an overhaul, not just 1 or 2 pieces.
You don't have to like it, but yes it's true. 4 pieces for a trash O does not fix a trash O; especially when one of the additions was a vast overpay for a vastly under performing piece.
Everything matters and counts for you, got it? Simple basic nothing reponse.
What matters is surrounding a young QB, especially on a rookie deal that has potential to be the best qb you've ever had, w/as much talent as possible. Not 1/2 assing it like you have for the vast majority of the teams life. Then try and hide him from the rest of the league and the fanbase. 9 pass attempts is almost purposefully trying to ruin him.

Why are you even here? You seem to hate almost everything. Maybe find a new hobby you enjoy more?
This is a rebuild. We are early in that process. Expecting what you expect is completely unrealistic. It's like you're mad Ryan Poles hasn't built a team that can beat KC or Buffalo this year. That was never gonna happen no matter who the GM was.
If you're gonna say the "O has been ignored" then yeah I'm gonna call you out of that cuz that's utter crap. It's far from a finished product (hence...a REBUILD) but plenty of investments have been made thus far as I pointed out. You can ignore them or disagree with them but it's still real.
No one is "hiding" JF1 nor would there be any benefit to doing so. He was one of the most prominent players in the NFL mid-season last year. With Mooney coming back from a significant injury, Claypool ding'd up, and the interior OL in flux, there really wasn't much to be gained by playing him in PS game 2, was there?
Last year, Fields lit it up in PS3 and then the whole O sucked to start the season. There's very little correlation there.
Can we at least give him half a season this year before we make any major judgments? That's not asking too much.

You don't get to decide who is here or not, or why.

Rebuild, for 1 side of the ball; and the wrong one.
You can have a differing opinion, and it can be wrong, good luck w/that one. You have a qb on a rookie deal, you go all in on that qb, not put the bear mininum into it while you try and rebuild the def; something that can be done quickly, after the O is finished and working.
9 pass attempts is hiding, again feel free to have a different opinion, feel free to have it be incorrect.
It's not the stat's, it's the playing. PS stats dont matter, the but the fact that they didn't even try to have him pass does. Again, so me a starter this year that had less then 10 that is supposed to be a franchise qb AND isn't a well seasoned vet; probably wouldn't find those w/less then 10 either.
No. I gave Poles/Eb a season, and they saw that O and were like, ya that works and punted; much like the O did last year and said lets worry about the def. Fields has 1, maybe 2 seasons left and these two fucks gave him a WR and a bunch of scrubs, and an OL that w/2 injuries is back to terrible. But please tell me more about how they built the O.
If this is a rebuild, it's in the realm of the perma rebuild of the Bulls.
I saw a clip on twitter of all his snaps in one of their pre-season games and he looked like he did a real solid job at both center and left guard. Take that for what you will.
Then maybe he's a late bloomer and will play like this in real games if needed. I looked over his blocking grades for his career, year by year and game by game more recently (when he did play). Not good. Not horrific, except in a few games. My point is that I guess I was foolish thinking we already had backups this good on the IOL. We had a small army of OL in our 90-man roster this preseason. I was actually thinking we had some good backup depth this year. The move was a bit stunning to me to be honest.
EDIT: I did just look at his preseason grades and you're right, he had a solid one. Especially pass protecting.
I think our depth is generally at guard. But with Whitehair having to move there because of the injury to his hand, and Kramer being injured...we really don't have any depth at center any more. I'm thinking Feeney is the center.
