Not sure I'm going to take that as gospel; it's not like we haven't seen GM's and HC's even in Chicago that lie about what happened, not saying they are lying, just not sure that's proof that what was reported is false either. Like I said in another thread AI is messing w/writing/journalism so it's not hard to believe it was all bupkis either.
What is really bothering me is we've had a series of things just like this and they all seem to be bogus. If it was on or two mixed in with some decent reporting, I wouldn't be bothered by it. But we've had a series of these things.
As far as the GM and the HC go, these guys seem to be a lot more open with a lot of what they talk about than the last 3 or 4 iterations. So until we get something blatant out of them, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt.
I take it all with a grain of salt. One "source" throws crap at the wall to see what sticks and everybody and their brother starts "reporting" the crap as if it's true. By the time the news cycle ends it is like the "news" is true.
On top of that we get fed a steady stream of stuff from people who about as smart as turnips - but they have the Internet to pump their crap to the masses. Some of these podcasts are so off the wall and wrong about stuff. And then there are the writers who obviously only care about putting out click-bait. They will say outlandish stuff about the Bears knowing it will get clicks - and that's all they really care about. They care zero about the truth. You know - they don't actually believe the crazy stuff they pump out as being true... but they pump it to us anyway. That is their agenda.

I just take everything with a grain of salt now.
If you look at the current Greg Gabriel podcast (Gabriel Talks Football ... about 43:20 into the video) on YT, he covers this specific point. One of the Bears beat writers (he does not name the guilty party) wrote an article that was a collection of stuff, all being completely baseless speculation. Greg's point was that once it was written and published, it became "fact" as far as social media goes and it went crazy from there.
I agree with having to take everything with a grain, but I think my "grains" are an order of magnitude larger ...
