An OL project named Kellen Diesch looking good

This is yet another example of our OL coach, Chris Morgan, developing young talent on the OL.  He has only had one regular season so far here (Coach Morgan) but it sure looks like he is getting the best out of these very young guys.  Borom is having a fantastic preseason too - not just Leatherwood and Carter.  I liked this quote from that article:

"Even his run-blocking has improved, earning a 97.6 grade on 31 snaps. Lesser competition or not, Borom is playing some of his best football lately. That swing tackle job belongs to him at this point. Hence why nobody is talking about Diesch. Still, this is a sign the Chicago Bears may have better depth at offensive tackle than some have thought. While Diesch may end up back on the practice squad, he’s done enough to get onto the main roster should an injury occur in the future."

Fans sometimes (often) fail to understand that young players in the NFL in general, and offensive linemen in the NFL in particular - can be developed into better players those first few years.  Look no further than Justin Fields for a QB example... we all expect him to be significantly improved in year 3 here - just as other year 3 Bears players like Borom and Leatherwood on the OL.  Carter in year 2 looks better also... his second season being coached by Morgan.

I just shake my head when Bears "fans" give up on players after a season or two.  The Hall of Fame is stocked to the brim with players who did NOT look good their first couple of seasons in the NFL.  But teams developed them and they had Hall of Fame careers as a result of that.  

I am not saying Fields or any of our young guys will be Hall of Famers.  What I am saying though, is that players CAN ascend and be developed.  Players can improve.  Gotta admit I just SMH when fans close their minds to the possibility of a player learning, improving and developing.  LOL, why even have coaches if that is the case?  Draft 'em and cut 'em after their rookie season if they are not All-Pro guys, right?  LOL.

When Eberflus was first hired we were told how he was intentional about assembling his entire coaching staff - with teacher-coaches.  He was focusing on building a staff that were extremely skilled at "connecting" with these young men so that they truly can reach their ceiling potential in the NFL. 

This is especially important due to the fact we have a VERY young roster.

While we'd all like to assume every coach is a teacher, that is not the reality.  There are different coaching styles... I do like having strong teachers who can bring the most out of our very YOUNG guys.  It's more than just "X's and O's" stuff. 

This OL coach in particular is doing something right for our offensive linemen improving so much.
