So what do you make of this 2023 team at this point?

We really need to get that OL healthy and Whitehair at C again, Jenkins back - and the new guy at RG actually showing up as being worth the investment the Bears put into him there.  Then of course we have the  rookie kid at RT who needs to learn his craft this year. 

Right now, even our run game looks like it is regressing now with 4 of the 5 OL guys being shuffled around in and out of the linup.  Only Brax at LT has been constant at his position.  If the OL wasn't so new (as a unit together) I think the shuffling would not have been so harmful.  But we went into this summer camp and preseason with only 1 of the 5 guys repeating in his position (Brax).  Jumbling the linup was especially tough on this unit who needed time grinding together as a unit of 5 guys.  Starters and not backups.  

Right now I'm not feeling too good about our upcoming game with Green Bay.  DL and OL woes.  And other than DJ at WR, we need Claypool and Mooney to step up and be threats also.  And if we can't run due to the OL woes, that is a problem too.  I'm not saying it's time to panic, but rather saying the team has legit question marks right now.  

I’m excited but also preparing for a major dud in week 1. If that happens we all know what the headlines will be. 1. “Love is the next Rodgers who will own the Bears for the next 15 years” 2. “Fields is another Bears QB bust” + more of the typical post-week 1 overreactions. This offense will need some time to gel and get in rhythm. Hope it doesn’t take half a season. Hoping the defense can create a lot of TO’s and make things easier.
