(...) McAfee, a former member of the Colts, asked those within the building how things are going. They responded the situation is "much better in the facility, building than it was at the beginning of training camp."
This standoff should defuse naturally beyond the current circumstances, because the Colts desperately need Taylor as the organization develops rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson while the running back has little-to-no leverage in contract discussions.
Owner Jim Irsay vehemently said that Taylor won't be traded. ESPN's Stephen Holder reported "the idea has not been totally dismissed at Colts headquarters," though a move seems unlikely. Taylor still prefers to play elsewhere.
And now the Colts signed RB Kenyan Drake amid the Taylor uncertainty.
Would you trade RB Khalil Herbert and a 2024 pick in exchange for Jonathan Taylor?
Then we'd have Taylor #1 RB and Roschon Johnson #2.
We don’t need him. The RB unit is already loaded with talent and better than last season (which was pretty good). I would crap if we gave ANYTHING for an RB right now. JMO.

My initial instinct is no. However, there might be scenario where I would consider it. If we were to give up a low draft pick (like a 5th) and then signed him to a heavily front loaded contract this year so that he would have a low cap the remaining years on the contract, I might consider it. But that's assuming we have enough spare cap space this year to do that and I haven't looked at where our cap is currently sitting at with the recent signings.
If we're going to add to a position, I'd like to see the OL get some attention. Both guards are out with injury and Whitehair has been out this week during one practice. Our depth doesn't look very impressive either. Not saying it's a crisis or anything, but why trade for a RB when we have bigger needs?
Its one thing to draft and develop, then pay a guy. But I cant see a situation where I would ever trade for running back, giving up draft capital for someone ypu need to pay next year
If the deal is Jaylon Johnson for Jonathon Talyor and we get a mid pick, Id do it then
