Sounds like he is back to being the guy we loved to watch in previous years. It is being reported that he played hurt last year with the ankle needing surgery (even before the final injury last season).

Okay, but if Gordon can’t cover him, it raises the question. I read that Tyler Scott has also looked good.

It is sounding like D.J. Moore, (a healthy) Mooney & Claypool (first full season here), along with TE's Kmet & Tonyan will be a lot of talent for Fields to work with. This will be the 1st season where Fields is not having to learn a new offense... and that is huge. Add in what should be a lethal running game, and it sure looks like this offense will be night and day better this year.

I was recently reading something about Jaylon Johnson knowing his limitations in getting a contract extension and admitting his play has not been up to the standards of the top 5 - 8 CBs. It sounds like he really wants to stay a Bear. Sounds like he will be reasonable when it comes to what he will sign when it comes to doing an extension or new contract.

I'm including him here because when you look at all the stuff in all formats of media about Johnson, Mooney, Claypool and probably other guys on the roster, it is pretty disgusting. At least I find it disgusting. And the folks publishing that crap will be the first to compain if the Bears and the players start restricting their access.

And I have no problem with them if these players fail and they report that. But this negativity before the season even begins is baffling to me. Let's see some regular season football and the 2023 season before we start running around talking about how the sky if falling. At the very least these people are pushing a false-narrative about these players. At worst they are simply hating on them. There are a lot of these media folks saying Fields is a bust too. SMH.

This describes most sites I find myself on as well as many family discussions. A few posters (past and present) also fall into this group. The people I know who beat down and criticize every move the Bears make but disappear when their predicted worse case scenario doesn't happen OR jump on every bad thing that happens as complete validation drive me nuts.

I'm not opposed to people being critical, Lord knows the Bears have made plenty of poor decisions over the years, but at least acknowledge the good ones and admit when you over-reacted. Too many Bears fans have a knee-jerk reaction to every move as the wrong one and can't or refuse to see that they are substituting their hot-take as 100% truth.

EDIT: Now I'm ranting and I'll most likely delete this when people start defending themselves (I'll admit I was wrong when the Bears will the Super Bowl going 17-0 with less than 100 points given up on the season.)
